$5 1795 AU-58, sold for $75k in January.14 -
Cant speak for the others, but I used to own that 1793 wreath. Sold it when I was diagnosed with stage 3, but 7 years later still kicking. Wouldnt mine owning it again, I picked up a liberty cap since, but not in this grade!

Here are the coins I would buy for my PCGS slabbed type set. They are outside of my current budget, but with $100,000 . . .

I would complete the Roman Twelve Caesars all in gold, including the short-lived emperors like Otho and Vitellius.
I have actually completed that set for about $10K, but with only two of the coins in gold.

I would deposit it in a nice balanced index fund and buy $200,000 in coins over the next 20 years and still have the $100,000.

I'd buy a couple dozen double eagles at near melt in NGC/PCGS MS63 slabs. It would be a very liquid investment where I could easily sell a few coins if I ever needed to raise some cash.

A few months back CRO had a beautiful Higley copper for sale - gorgeous color and nearly without flaws - and it was in that range.

1732 milled 8 reales Mexico authentic (PCGS or NGC) = 15k to 20k
Nothing else I really want (that cost so much) to be honest. The rest I would keep long term for home repairs (invest the money till that time would come).
If I was a US collector then 1794 dollar in low grade if that is even still possible. Or build an early US dime collection.

With that kind of budget I'm finishing the Date Run and Major Varieties of US Cents with a nice 1793 Chain, 1793 Wreath, 1793 Liberty Cap, 1799, and 1804... with any money left over... 18th C Type... 1793 Liberty Cap Half Cent, 1795 Half Dollar, maybe 1796 Quarter... but I think I'd have already overspent my mythical budget.

The question in my mind is whether the $100,000 is all you can spend on coins or is it additional funds?
The alternatives are owning a few high value coins or the challenge of a $100,00 date and mint mark set.

The first thing that comes to mind is a gold 1865 Philadelphia year set. The year is fascinating and also the 1865 $2.5 and $5 are very rare. Getting those would make this set possible.
An 1864 gold set is even cooler. I would love an 1864 $2 1/2 and an 1864-s $5. So few people have any of these 4 gold pieces.
A 1796 25C and 50C would also be cool!

I'd go for a mint state 1846 half dime (only three out there), and would hope to have more than half the cash left to get some nice type coins or just keep working on nice examples for my half dime variety collection.
