USPS Express Service Downgrade
I haven't shipped much this year until the last month. In 3 of 3 cases, I shipped Express on a Monday. One was a 1-Day service and the other was 2-Day. The guaranteed date for the 1-day was Thursday and the 2-days were Friday. It seems like the guarantee is now their stated service days, plus two business days. From my experience, both packages arrived a day late, but a too soon for the guarantee.
What a change in service and accountability...and the prices keep rising.

alot of the baby boomers are retireing and they are getting replaced by gen Z'ers, and usps is now the worse as it's ever been
THANK YOU!!!! You are exactly right. I'm retired from the Post Office after working there for 31 years. Employees that started in my later years did not have the same work ethic that my generation had. And it's not just in the PO. It's with every job. They think they're owed something and shouldn't have to work for it.
and that is not unique to USPS or any service business, that applies across the board. The same was said forty-five years ago when I entered the construction industry with less of a work ethic than the greatest generation. I am still working, helps keep the brain sane of the body moving forward.
While I'll make a general concession that the work ethic of the average Gen Z'er is is inferior to that of a boomer, that is far from the primary reason that every company, both public and private sector, is a pathetic parody of what it once was. I grew up in construction and I could work circles around most my age when I did, but anyone with above average work ethic and a above average IQ seen't want to spend his days in the sweltering heat listening to Latino F.M. radio for $16 an hour.
Alot of this is due to the "everyone should go to college" mantra that has been force fed to kids in school for the past 30 years. No shop class, negative stigma about tradesman, and never taught to take pride in your own craftsmanship. All these different subjects but never one we end up using later in life. AFAIR They never tried to to teach us how to think, only what to think.

My last 2 Express shipments were guaranteed overnight next day but arrived a day late. I got prompt refunds on both.
Are you guys able to remember when the old(er) guys said the same thing about you?
Every generation, things seem to be falling apart due to the laziness, apathy and entitlement of the next one.
And you can try to give them advice, but they just won’t take it!
It’s just crazy how anything still works.
I think the time guarantee depends on the distance.
On a plus note, I picked up a large flat rate box (14x12x3.5) and it is now called a medium flat rate box. It also costs more to ship than before.
Depending on the destination, USPS Priority Mail Express has always been 1 or 2 days. I get refunded more often than not for late packages via check and it's very easy to file for a refund on the USPS site.
