Broad strike error or damage

I think error but seller argues that “there is a chance that this coin was hit the second time it didn't move out of the way like it was supposed to and cause it to be flattened and not circular and even the s underneath the date is messed up it has a thickness to it so I think it is a minting error thanks for your input though any other observations?“

Any thoughts from the experts?

    Damage. It’s out-if-round without evidence of a second strike by dies. The area in question is pitted on one side. It may have circulated some after the damage.

    I suppose that "a zero percent chance" is still technically "a chance".

    Even if it was a genuine double-strike error, the asking price would be about 10x too high in that condition. Do you have any doubts that the coin is heavily, heavily circulated?

    not only is it pitted on that side there is variation in the depth of what is pretending to be a strike
