a promise to give my kids my coins before i pass is now at hand
i hope not to pass soon and have no health issues
but i wanted to enjoy handing these to my kids to see their enjoyment
my coins can be found on great collections home page under collections for sale " the las vegas teddy's toner collection in 2 parts" july 13th & july 20th

coins are also found here in collectors showcase under toned coins.
https://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/collectors-showcase/toned-coins/las-vegas-teddys-collection-progress/3460
.
.
.

some of my noteable coins
" PRINTED MEDIA TRANSFER TONED " examples
.

this lincoln cent is most likely from an album that transfer toned it
" ICTOR D can be seen on his forhead as well as 1909 above the 1939 date "
so this explains the trainwreck of toning seen on the obverse

.

this walking liberty half dollar was most likely found in a junk drawer that had a "cracker jacks toy surprise" laying on top of it
one can see the remenants of cracker jacks and 1919 above the motto

.
.
.
.
very rare or uncommon to see a " BANK OR MINT CANVAS BAG TONED " mercury dime
full coverage obverse

.
.
.
.
one of the most colorful buffalo nickel that the toning brings out a chiseled look on the obverse...truly a gem here

.
.
.
.
of note....a couple " MONO TONED " gems here
this 1958 lincoln appears like a steel cent in hand as it's mono chrome silver on both sides from a double mint set

.
this walker is mono tone " GUACAMOLE GREEN " from a double mint set
rather uncommon to find a double sided mono toned walker

.
.
.
.
some other stunners
a lincoln woody that looks like manzinta bark

.
a buffalo nickel with the " MASKED INDIAN OR LONE RANGER " die clash on the obverse
ron pope was impressed with this one and was or did include it in his book
" it's like he has the lone ranger's mask on his eyes "

.
a beautiful example of striated toning found here

.
.
.
.
a very uncommon to see sample slab with a semi key date in it with a trueview

.
.
.
.

with my 1965 to 1967 ms set

here's a few of my favorites
my 1965 to 1967 sms quarters

this walkers rim toning always brought a smile

this was my favorite peace dollar in ms65 with that rainbow rim toning

thank you again for any and all interest

    of note
i've never sent a coin to CAC
i've never chased grades with my coins for upgrades
    my 1935-d buffalo...a burgandy & bronze toner ( nice combo for a patina )
might even be the 1935-d/d too

bump with a few standouts for sale
a sweet 2 sided mono toned raspberry proof toner

    .
    .
    .
a nice jade toned proof lincoln here of note how tough it is to find green hue'd toners

    .
    .
    .
this although not officially designated in my honest opinion
    it could be
a 1959 improper annealed planchet or "BLACK BEAUTY" as they're called
this example of a black beauty also bears sweet rainbow toning

Longtime no see. And the coins are awesome too. Your ‘35 D looks not just possible but possibly just unattributed.

  • lasvegasteddylasvegasteddy Posts: 10,425 ✭✭✭

thanks pcgsregisterycollector for the comment and hopefully you win some at great prices
    ol twosides2acoin
just seeing your reply added ear to ear smiles
i probably need to bow back in as my life is alot less demanding
yup someone will score that 35-d and have one of the prettiest examples going
    if ya ask me

bump with some high light coins
so this jefferson nickel stood out to me
with obverse toning like that of a proof toner the obverse is 100% cotton candy blue
the reverse has like fishnet textile toning that looks like looking through chain link fence at monticello

    .
    .
    .
this 42-s merc was one of my favorites as green toning is so pretty
the obverse is like jade green with some dark purple
i called her my green goddess

    .
    .
    .
so these 2 kennedies have like velvet or tissue paper toning to them
it really makes the colors very vibrant and bold
the 1965 in ms64+ looked right leaving
the impression they way under graded the 1966 at au58

last week for part 1 of my auctions on great collections can be found on their homepage at bottom

    .
    .
    .
as much as this is the only mint/bank canvas bag textile toned mercury dime that i've seen
" ex anacs small holder in ms62fb "

    .
    .
    .
this is also either a mint or bank bag textile toned just not as profound as the mercury dime
2 images display this...although i isolated an area such textile pattern can be seen on other area's too
rather rare/uncommon to see this toning on a walking liberty half dollar

without notes on the great photo

    .
    .
    .
a very bold textile toner here with what i suspect to be from storage in corduroy jeans

    Teddy!
Are you giving your kids these coins or are you selling them and giving your kids the money? I'm confused, buddy.

    Hope you are well

    hey DCW long time
i gave my kids my coins as promised and wanted to do this " while alive "
rather then burden them with having to sell them
my kids aren't into them and they asked me to sell them being i have the know-how
my kids just want the $$$ they'll fetch as a boost in their lives
    .
    .
    .
a couple coins to high light here
so this "shell case " lincoln had me baffled when it received "RD"
it is one of the prettiest lincolns i had as it's a flashy red but with rainbow toning
no brown at all maybe that's why it was assigned "RD"

    .
    .
    .
    a couple sweet buffalos here
    this 1913 type 2 was bought in a pcgs type 1 holder ( i chuckled )
but the 2 sided rainbow toning surely makes this quite an example

    .
    .
this 1937-d has a field of light rainbow covering it that high lights the designs
the field like ghosts the designs...very pretty in hand

    .
    .
    .
this washington quarter has some sweet color draping the obverse and always sparkled to me

bump with some peace dollars at auction
all coins never sent to CAC or sent in for regrades
as some of mine surely warrant upgrade
    .
    .
    .
so this 1927-d to me was my most under graded
stunning example that ms62 is a travesty if you ask me
super clean cheek and rest of the coin with powder on to of it's luster

    .
    .
    .
this 1927-s is a stunner too
super nice and clean 2 sided pumpkin toning in ms62
just waiting for an upgrade if you ask me

    .
    .
    .
a bold 1922 here with rainbow toning

    .
    .
    .
this 1924 has a gorgeous reverse
like the eagle over looking an easter's colorful sunrise
just gorgeous colors make this one's reverse

    .
    .
    .
this 1925 has a very subtle pastel covered obverse
to view it larger on the website or it's trueview you'll see
the obverse is covered in color

    .
    .
    .
this 1926 is a super clean example that is kissed with some rainbow rim toning

    thursday bump
of all my coins i think i'll miss my SLQ's most
such an amazing & pretty design
    .
    .
    .
so this 1917 has a hit on her outstretched or right arm
what i love about it though
the rim is fully flat top and if you follow the inside rim it's 90 degrees or very sharp
looks like it could cut you
the whole coin has a pebbled patina not luster ripped look
if there was a matte proof SLQ i'm sure these would be those attributes

    .
    .
    .
this is smittys old avatar coin
the reverse is what made me acquire it when it became for sale

    .
    .
    .
this 1923 was part of my 1923-p set that i cheerished
kissed with some color that was pleasing enough for me

    .
    .
    .
my boldest was this 1930 as this is a tough series for toners
    but they're out there

    .
    .
    .
this 28-s sure is a flashy one with some mild color on her

with some large pizza pies to enjoy
    .
so after drooling over stewart blays 1919 lincoln
i had to have one too but nowhere near his moose
i scoured looking for that central obverse detail and beard details
i was quite happy with the needle sharp strike of this example
such a year for lincolns with strike if you ask me
