Am I missing something? Looks like a super nice piece, and I agree with the grade... and sticker... but there were 47 bids and 21 bidders on this piece that drove it to MS pricing... wow!

The price doesn't really seem that out of character for this quality of large cent.
Looks like an "everyman" bidding war.
I guess they both needed the coin for their sets and didn't care about the value.

Yes, a choice looking cent for the grade, and stickered.
Still seems like strong money; I acquired this one at about half the price, but granted that was 7 years ago, was a good deal at the time, and nice middle date cents seem to have gained popularity since then.

Quality will bring strong prices and bidders who appreciate the difference. The color is ideal and the dealer reliable. Add the CAC factor and there you go.

Interesting, I assume it developed the green crystalline either pvc contamination or some other type of corrosion in the holder
Not sure what it is, but seems stable, as the first image was taken in 2018, probably not long after it was slabbed, and I took these tonight. Could it use a gentle brushing? Perhaps, but I’m not cracking it out.
Strong coins bring strong prices, I don't thnk that the dealer had anything to with it.
They might return it or just not pay for it.
