My 9 yo is getting better coin roll hunting

sadysta1sadysta1 Posts: 1,316 ✭✭✭

I made a deal with my kid that profits from any coins we find coin roll hunting, mainly uncirculated cents from 1990s, (after eBay fees) will go towards his first gold coin coin. So needless to say he is highly motivated, despite the fact that it will take quite a while.

But... he is good finding coins... here's the example.....

Cool, he should also get a cent folder and see if he can fill it up.

What a contrast between this thread and another recent thread!

I think that is awesome! I still roll search, but I honestly HATE searching cents. I much prefer nickels. He could find Henning nickels, war nickels, dateless buffalos or better. Perhaps even a few V nickels!

This ragged clip was found by a boy with a mentor. The other poster, Cheryl, is likely working on her own. Apples and Oranges. It would be nice to have a collector in the family to guide you along but that's not always possible.
