PCGS or Fedex -When AI does not answer your question?

rec78rec78 Posts: 5,845 ✭✭✭✭✭

When you have a question that AI cannot answer what is the phone # to talk to someone?? Or the email that a person will answer? AI is STUPID.

Perhaps your question may be answered here?

I have found that ChatGBT works well except when you ask for a phone number or current business. I have had my share of bad phone numbers and companies that are out of business.

It is not that life is short, but that you are dead for so very long.

Generally, AI answers are as stupid as the questions asked of it. You need to supply context to the question.

    I think it

I think I would use FedEx if I need to ship something. I would use PCGS only for grading coins.

    ;)

You might also consult the last page of the submission form.
If you have a question about how to ship coins to PCGS, the answer is always generally USPS registered mail.

Slightly unrelated, do not trust answers that google AI gives. Deeply flawed answers are given to clear questions.

I asked google five days ago “ why did George WaGGner spell his name with two capital Gs?” The answer was that there are no examples of George using two capital Gs, and went on with other nonsense.
Two spots down from the AI reply was an example with the two Gs!

Very unrelated: George wrote for Tales of Wells Fargo and his name typically appears with two capital Gs for his last name in the T.o.W.F. credits and on his other works. I found an obscure western website that clearly stated he spelled it that way.
The AI response has changed since then. It does seem to learn.

    Even more off topic:
I assume that the silver dollars talked of in so many Wild West westerns must have been Seated dollars, since 1878 was the beginning of Morgans.

If you call Fedex they give you the AI runaround.
It said "incorrect address" I do not know if they meant that they tried to deliver it to the incorrect address or if the address on the package was incorrect. It turned out the address on the package was correct. This package was a submission from PCGS.AI cannot solve this sort of a problem.
I have resovled this now and I have my package but I had to drive 7 miles to the fedex facility.

Ebay-different problem there that I posted in another thread. When my packaged arrived after I sent the buyer a refund. I never got paid for this one.
Another ebay problem-about a month ago. They sent me a email and told me not to send a coin to a certain buyer because they had a problem with his account but it was 3 days after I sent the coin and if he returned the item to contact them. Well the buyer returned the item and when I tried to contact them it did not work. Another case where the AI failed.

I just wanted a simple answer to usable phone #'s where you do not get the AI runaround. Apparently no one can answer my question.

It's not even clear what you asked, what the "AI" was, what the response was, or what you wanted to know.

There's also a lot of questions that humans can't answer... as you've proven on this thread.

Lol. We're never going to find out. The AI is clearly answering questions from the OP's account.

I think I have some idea what he’s asking about - for a FedEx phone number (or email address) that can put him in touch with a human being rather than AI.
However, the thread title and discussion about AI were unnecessary distractions.

Exactly, I never was very good at explaining things. I am a dinosaur I guess. Just a few years ago you could contact an actual person. I guess most companies have followed the AI route. When I call my bank or PO a real person answers my call. Sorry for my confusion. Thanks all.

    no confusion here

my ins co as the most low level ai. "what can i help you with?" "error on card" "we'll send you a new one!" - same card comes. all subsequent attempts are met with "we'll send you a new card" - get human on phone, same issue. eventually, they said they'll fix it and to stop calling. it's still not fixed. they are punting that my plan id shows the right info in their system. (yet they can't correct the plan name on the card. ancient legacy system anyone?)

What you're referring to actually isn't AI, it's just the automatic prompts that cut down on the number of call center employees needed. It's frustrating for everyone, and I've been dealing with this lately also.

See, when you call Fedex, they'll ask- "What can I help you with ", you say "track a package" and give it the tracking number. After that, it will give you the details, and you just keep pressing "0" repeatedly. It will continue to tell say "we're sorry, we need" and you just keep jamming that "0" button until you get through. With almost all automated phone promo systems, that is how you get through to an operator. You may have to press "o" 25 times before it starts ringing to an agent.

You will likely be connected to an overseas call center, where an employee who earns $3 an hour, is only worth $3 an hour, and often can not help with anything.

With PCGS =, you have to press "1" for English, then press "9" for callback. Theres no use waiting on hold, you could be on the entire day without an accurate wait time estimate, so when you use the callback option you retain your spot in the queue. Be careful though, because if you happen to be on another call or don't answer on the first or second ring, they hang up, and after that you're SOL for the day because the Queue will be full by 10:30 AM PST, and it tells you to try again tomorrow.

The customer service email takes around 4-5 business days to get back to you, normally with unnecessary and easily obtainable question. After you answer, you might have to wait another day or two before they respond back again, but there is a high probability that English might not be their native language, so you may or may not have to explain the issue using comprehensive illustration before a resolution is visible on the horizon. Occasionally you'll get lucky and they'll loop in one of the supervisors.

To be honest, the implementation of actual AI with learning capabilities could be a massive improvement to the current customer service situation, It could easily be taught how to expedite the cursory responsibilities. I often wonder how many of those 782 calls are novices asking about a newly discovered "error". If it makes you feel any better, the dealer desk is seemingly as understaffed as the rest of the company, I'm currently dealing with an issue myself. Lately, it seems like the most expeditious way to resolve a problem might actually be starting a thread here, I guess we will see.

Welcome to the future, my good sir! :#
