Completed Wayte Raymond Album of Buffalo Nickels... Pics Added...
resized.jpg)
Hello Everyone... last year, I started a Buffalo Nickel album (...another Wayte Raymond) with the intention of having all raw VF-XF coins. I started at the Summer Baltimore show last year and between that, ebay, and buying some of the harder dates from a Forum member (thanks Greg!), I had put a good dent into the set when I put coin collecting down last August for starting a new job. Well, in the meantime... my brother decided that he's "downsizing" and since none of his kids are into collecting, he decided to send everything to me. Part of this set was about a 2/3 complete set of Buffalo Nickels. My brother had collected most of this when he was a kid from change (he had a paper route) so a lot of these coins were pretty worn but for the most part in decent condition. When I merged the two sets, I realized I only had two more coins to complete it... well, at least a "first pass"... ;-) Definitely will be room for upgrades down the line but I think I'm ready to put Nickels down for a while. I had also started Liberty Nickels last year, but I think I'm just going to focus more on my Box of 20... Here are the two nickels I got to complete the set. As usual, comments welcomed...
edited to add: I'll get pictures of this set in the album as soon as I can get my camera recharged... :-/
1913-D, T-II
1917-S... saw this for $15 and couldn't pass it up... I'll likely upgrade when I revisit the set but the novelty doesn't wear off...
...and here's the whole set. Spanning coins gotten from circulation in the early 1960's to pieces I just bought this weekend. Sorry about the cr@ppy resolution. I ended up having to switch lenses from my typical 100mm macro lens to a 55mm... :-/

Nice!
I have two sets in Whitman albums. One is complete with the 1918/17 and 3-Legged.
The other is a little over half complete.
No acid treated!
It is a fun and education set to work on. It gives me a new appreciation for that time era of our country too.

Yeah, I wanted a diversion from early copper but just wanted to do a date/MM set. A little less of a commitment...

I love this series and have thought about attempting a set many, many times, yet have never pulled the trigger. Wonderful accomplishment!

No slabs, no stickers ... a great old fashion style collection!
A perfect example of a real “Everyman” set.
