I’ve used both WD40 & nail polish remover with effectiveness. While the latter contains acetone, it’s mixed with other additives & should be used carefully. It actually works a little better than WD40.

Just don't use lighter fluid -

Don't use a belt sander either
Why would you want to peel it off? Are you going to send it to PCGS in the hopes of a higher grade?

The grade was probably 63 or less. Will probably sell for more without the band.
I almost always use Purell (the alcohol hand sanitizer) to remove any kind of adhesive residue or stickers that won't cleanly peel off a slab. It will not damage the plastic and always works but sometimes requires a few applications. Its viscosity makes it much easier than just rubbing alcohol.
Just never use acetone or other solvents, as they will damage the slab irreparably.
