Glanced at the obverse: the mark on Washington’s neck just below the jawline and additional marks on the base of the bust are enough to keep this coin below 67.

The pictures are too fuzzy to tell for sure.
From what I can see, it looks like MS63, which would not be worth any premium above silver value.

  • I just need to get a new phone with a good camera. I'll get some better pics an post them. Thank you

@Happycoins please read that response several times.

Do you see the marks that Shurke refers to?

In your research, have you found an example of a Washington quarter with even one mark similar to those, let alone several marks on the same coin? Post pictures side by side for comparison if so.

Buy an old Samsung S13, great camera for coins. Cheap if you can find one.

Expand your research to include the population report that our host provides for their graded coins ( https://www.pcgs.com/pop/detail/washington-quarter-1932-1998/112 ) and it will give you a better idea of just how uncommon such high grade coins are even in modern series. For the 1964-D Washington, out of 4,825 graded there were 22 coins at MS67+, 2 at MS68, and none higher. For NGC, out of 4,996 there are 23 graded at MS67+ and none higher. For CACG the numbers are much lower, and there are no 67+ or higher stickered and one MS68 graded, probably a crossover from PCGS.

I agree that yours is probably right around MS63, so worth melt.

Is there ANY Washie that doesn't look like it was weakly struck with worn out dies?

You apparently set a much lower bar for “zombie thread” than some of us.

Agree, it’s more of a terminal illness thread.
