Recent Trueview Experience
I was back and forth whether to send a couple raw coins to CACG or PCGS this time. I stuck with PCGS since I had an express submission, free vouchers, and a world submission. I figured I’d send all in one box to cut cost. These coins are all for resale.
I received the Express coins back last week in a timely fashion. The images dragged behind. I contacted customer service and one popped shortly after. The quality I would say is half way between the lows of last year and Phil’s quality. The other coin…..they forgot to image.
Customer service offered to cover shipping both ways to have the coin imaged. I planned to quickly wholesale these coins and paid for express, so it didn’t really make sense. I countered asking for just a free voucher for a single “regular” submission in the future. I figured it made sense for both of us. I didn’t want the delay and FedEx Express back and forth would cost them more. Crickets from PCGS.
I’m hopeful they respond, but it’s been a few days.
Just sharing my recent experience.

I'd guess their new strategy is to slow-walk everything since the time and effort that most folks would have to expend to extract anything from PCGS would exceed what they would receive from PCGS. It's sad to see what has happened to this company in the last several years.

My last submission to PCGS, the TrueView was also lost. I let my membership expire last month.
TBD
I got the medal back today that I started a thread about weeks or months ago
Too disgusted to talk about it.
Can we see? I dropped off two proof Lincoln's a '38 & a '42 to be graded and TV'd at the TNA show. Free submissions. Am I going to be disappointed?
PCGS did not have the customer volume I would have expected to see either Friday or Saturday. In fact I walked right up, no one in line.

✓ Everyman Mint State Lincoln Cents (1909 – 1958)
✓ Morgan Dollar GSA Hoard (1878 – 1891)
It's a total crapshoot , with my orders lately it's been about 1/3 are pretty good and the other 2/3 are terrible.

Even though your offer is fair, my experience is that they do not "bargain." It's free photo shoot or nothing.
They've been sloppy with TVs lately, either "forgetting" to take the pics, or on restorations taking pics before but not after, or taking before and after pics but not updating the pictures to the after version.
Although not a reliable rule, It appears that for lower service levels the pics are worse. Here are some from the last week or two.

Just awful:

TrueView is why I had everything crossed from NGC.
Hope I don't have to send everything somewhere else now.

I was in the hobby in the last half of the 1970s and the first half of the 1980s, then got out for more than thirty years, resuming in the late 2010s. In my first go-around, there was no such thing as third party grading, at least that I knew of. I came back into a much different hobby, and a hobby that on forums like this spends most of its' time complaining about this or that. Through all of that as it relates to this topic, I have never sent a coin in for grading or any other purpose. Yet I do own 830 graded coins. They provide solid storage and yes even grading, though they so take quite a few boxes to store, but that is okay. Life is just too short to spend it complaining when the enjoyment of a collecting waits, and since I do not collect the high end gold issues or silver dollars, it makes no sense and there is no stress of how a photograph looks. I can look at the actual item, always better than an image.
So instead of complaining about an important service that is crucial to the hobby and that we care about and pay huge sums of money to support...you would rather complain about us complaining?
Seems you could have spent some time on the enjoyment of collecting rather than writing this complaint.

That’s a good batting average in baseball.
This is sad news that PCGS' TV service has fallen off, but it seems Phil is doing very well at Great Collections
