New Pricing or Policy - First Strike & Special Label Fees

ProofCollectionProofCollection Posts: 7,080 ✭✭✭✭✭

As I tend to do every year, I submitted a Proof Gold Buffalo for grading with a First Strike Buffalo label. The first strike fee ($18) used to be the same whether you got the Flag label or Buffalo label. Last year I believe I got the Flowing Hair First Strike label included in the First Strike fee. No longer. Now you must also pay $7 to get the Buffalo label. This is part of a trend on recent submissions where PCGS is being more diligent about charging fees. I used to be able to submit California Fractional Golds under the Regular tier, but my last sub was flagged and charged the Special tier. Corporate is cracking down.

Everyone's doing it. Long as we get the coins back we're doing ok 🙂

Inflation man. 7 bucks is manageable though. hope they don't jack it up more though

God comes first in everything I do. I’m dedicated to serving Him with my whole life. Coin collecting is just a hobby—but even in that, I seek to honor Him. ✝️

It's not inflation when it's a new charge. First Strike used to include any label you wanted. If you just want the words First Strike that still costs $18.
