Salting away game 1 was pretty unexpected, if this Indiana team can pull it off I cash for a $900 win!
I don't think the books allow this. But say ya had $100 bet on the series. It would be nice to withdraw say $50 of it along with the profits, and ride with the $50 left as a hedge of sorts.
I'm not even sure if early cash-out on a series is available or not? I'm guessing it probably is available?
Nope, if I want to. take a cash out right now they are offering me $65 profit on my $100 bet , it's not happening

I left the game at halftime seeing my tram was down by 12. And with all the Pacers turnovers felt would be a long night Left home for 5 hours then checked the score at 3am and was really surprised. Maybe should not watch the game may have better luck.

Without question in the long run, that is the best play. Make the play and stick it out, win or lose. My calculations are the bookie grabs around 10% more juice for the early buy-out. You're already giving the bookie its juice on the wager, and now you're basically handing them 10% more. That's certainly not a long term recipe for success.
I'm not saying the early buy-out can't be done in certain situations. However getting into a habit of doing it makes the bookie's job of extracting money a lot easier.

Many years ago I was at a harness horse racetrack. Horse #1 won the first 9 races.
I remember one year watching the Hambletonian which was simulcast to my local track. It hadn't yet moved to the Meadowlands, it was still being run at that Illinois track. Well it was obvious after 4 or 5 races. that for whatever reason, the rail was lightening fast, and no front runners were being caught. So when the eliminations began, it was all the top drivers in the country there for those races, and unlike the local driving idiots, these top drivers saw the condition of the track. Well the race started, and the drivers all went for the rail lead, a harness racing cavalry charge that I had never seen before, it was unbelievable.
Well the top harness drivers turned into idiots themselves, especially the favorites vying for that rail lead, wire to wire trip. You see it coming, the idiots totally burnt out their favorites and it set up for a couple huge longshots to run 1-2 for a really fat exacta - of which i had none of it.
After that race, the top drivers learned from their mistake, and the following races weren't like a cavalry charge. That one race golden opportunity for a great score was missed. 🙁
At a Sire Stakes race I bet the great Stanley Dancer. At the half he kicked the horse in the butt to get him motivated. No fine. But today you get fined.

I could tell ya stories told to me by a hall of fame driver about the subject you implied, that would blow your mind. A number of times I visited his racing stable located at his home. Probably around twenty or thirty top, well bred harness horses. I was just an extended family friend of his, but he knew I liked horse racing as a bettor. For some reason he enjoyed telling me these "stories", frankly many were stories he probably shouldn't have been telling me about that subject.
This may sound funny, but he was an older gentleman when I first knew him, and I of course never asked him about this subject. But he kept bringing it up with the various stories and such. It's almost like I was a preacher and he was confessing the sins of the industry to me. I guess he sized me up quickly, and knew I wouldn't tell a soul about the details of our conversations. And he was right, I never have and never will. At least in the Philly area, the worst thing in life you can be to family or friends is a rat, and I have never done that.
All that being said, suffice to say, use your imagination, and that may still not be good enough as to what was going on in the harness industry. I recall one driver who was infamous for doing that, and everybody knew it. When handicapping a race where he was a driver, you actually needed to try to handicap whether he would be cheating or not. LOL
Nice win for Sovereignty in the Belmont Stakes Saturday. Journalism does not look like he likes the mile and a quarter distance. I came up second in my play. The Travers may be the next spot for Sovereignty at 1 1/4 mile. Journalism may not like the distance again. Be interesting to see if he tries again at that distance.

Sovereignty looked like he could run another 10 furlongs with no problem. While Journalism was shortening stride, gasping for air.
Travers, that horse may go off 1-5 in a short field.
Dam, you're hitting those "oddball" bets like they're going out of style. 👍
I've been thinking in this new modern era, with the computer offering practically endless combinations of bets available. That a sharp player may be able to find actual value there, and if disciplined enough, make money in the long run.
I've read some posts on various sports websites about some players being banned from some sports betting venues for consistently making money. The posts in my view seemed legit.
Frankly, it does make sense. I mean all these perhaps millions of computer calculations each day, in my opinion all of those calculations can't possibly be accurate. Almost impossible not to be some flaws in which a player might have an edge. But of course a lot easier said than done. The discipline involved may be similar to a monk at a monastery.
If it's constant action a player craves, that's fine, but sorry to say he's got no chance of making money in the long run - zero. But in this new era, perhaps money could be made in the long run - maybe?
i know Galaxy may not want to hear this compliment. But that recent large ML bet he made on the Thunder series, was one of the best bet values I've ever seen. I realize it was the NBA, but that bet was about as mortal lock as possible for a multitude of reasons. I have no doubt the odds were in his favor on that bet, even with the low percentage payout. In my opinion the computer should have had that payout much lower.
The key is does any bettor on the planet have the discipline skills needed, to strike only on situations such as that series bet which don't come up too often when the odds favor the player. Well according to the posts mentioned, I guess some out there do?
Interesting - you took the first listed bet when OKC was at -10.5 and grabbed 9-1 odds for a WM number a little bit higher. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.
The second one I can't fully comment on as to my opinion on value, because it was live and don't know what the score was when you made that bet. But 13-1 odds with the profit boost doesn't sound bad. Not that you wanted my lame arze opinion anyway. LOL
The Cincy/Cleveland game I won $16 on my bet so I took the whole $86 and sprinkled it on various bets between the Dodgers and Padres and rang it up for a nice $920 Profit
so, i visited WinStar Casino over the weekend. it resides near the Texas/Oklahoma border and is the largest casino in the world. it has 600,000 square footage of gambling. why i had never been before is a question i can't answer. but now i can say that i have. but before i get to that experience, i must first begin with my time at Lakecrest, a smaller casino about 30 mins away. light night and day. blackjack is my jam, and Lakecrest had less than a handful of BJ tables. table min was $5. had a hard time sliding in because it was packed. i finally spotted an open seat, and the nightmare commenced. i asked if anyone was sitting there and a completely blasted female yelled out, "YOU ARE!!!!!" i was in the middle of 5 people who had sky-high BACs........3 women and 2 men. and if that wasn't bad enough, they had no clue how to play. it made for a truly miserable experience. so bad, in fact, that the dealers were having a difficult time focusing. at one point a female dealer looked at me and mouthed "i'm sorry." i just shook my head. can't tell you how many times a drunken idiot took an ill-advised hit, and it cost the entire table because it turned out to be the bust card. i didn't stay long and left.
WinStar was a completely different ballgame. table min was $10 there, but after the catastrophe at Lakecrest there was no way in hell i was playing at the lowest level. i scoured the joint until i located a $25 min table that consisted of sober players. amazing how the level of play was ratcheted up when there was more money at stake. my last session i bought in for $200. my goal was to walk away from that table with a purple chip..........worth five-hundy. if i did that, i'd be up gambling-wise and it would cover a chunk of my expenses. i played with three others (2 dudes and a female) and it was a blast. fun, kind peeps. the dealers were spectacular there. one asian dealer was funny as hell. i asked him how his day was going and he said, "every day is the best day of my life." when he said that i was taken aback. i actually went into deep thought and didn't say a word. he then looked at me with a smile and said, "no response to that answer?" from that point on, the jokes were flying. when you play with cool peeps and have cool dealers, blackjack is hella fun. and it's even MORE fun when you win. i grinded for about an hour and was up $175.
the next dealer was a cat originally from Melanesia -- a group of islands in the South Pacific Ocean (near Australia). the moment he rotated to the table he told us, "i have a nickname here." the woman to my right said, "and it's what?" he said, "the butcher." the moment i heard that, i took it as a personal challenge. i battled with the butcher for a good half hour. ebbs and flows, and at one point i was knocked back down to around $100 in profit. i decided to stick a $100 bet out there and included two $5 chips..............a ten buck bet for the butcher. i told him, "i'm buttering you up, butcher." he smiled. i was dealt a 15. he was showing a 4. naturally i had to stick and stay, and i sensed the $110 about to vanish into thin air. he flipped over a 10...........and another 10. another half hour or so of grinding and voila, i got my filthy mitts on a purple chip.
moral of the story: if your budget allows, play higher stakes in blackjack. for more than one reason.
Some nice scores posted. Well done lads. That's how we like it around here.
Now on to the US Open plays. Scottie for top 5,Top 20 for Bhatia, Pendrift, Bezuidehout and for the win, hopefully ,at 22-1 Aberg. Good luck to all and may the aces, eagles, birdies be with us.
Successful transactions:Tookybandit. "Everyone is equal, some are more equal than others".
Well you're back in the driver's seat. Not a bad place to be at 9-1.
Interesting the books had that third game as OKC -4.5. Now this fourth game off their loss it's OKC -6. Of course the "bounce back" thing discussed earlier in the thread.
Frankly, i had no clue about the third game, and neither with this upcoming game. That being said, when you're in at 9-1 in the series on a long shot dog, it's always good to have an inconsistent favorite. Win or lose the series, you've got a shot.
Obviously this is a must win game for the Pacers. They could lose this game, and then conceivably back at home steal game 6. However if the series goes to game 7, it's hopeless for the Pacers. OKC may win that game 7 by over 20 points.
So in reality, the Pacers need to win Monday's game 5, and also win game 6 at home, to clinch the series.
That's my 2 cents opinion, and at 2 cents, it's way overpriced. LOL

Everyone thinks OKC is going to demolish Indiana to. make up. for that crushing loss the other night
My position is they would have demolished them the other night if they could have, Indiana is a tough team
In other words I. like the points as well
"Everyone thinks OKC is going to demolish Indiana to. make up. for that crushing loss the other night"
That's the main reason, as I stated earlier about the line, that I thought the line would be at least -15, possibly more.
Only a question of which OKC team shows up tonight?
Frankly, I'm of course rooting for Perkdog in the series, but I'd be very surprised if OKC loses this game 2. However the spread is another matter.

March of Dimes fights for the health of all moms and babies. We're advocating for policies to protect them. We're
working to radically improve the health care they receive. We're committing to close the health equity gap for
moms and babies regardless of wealth, race or geography. We're pioneering research to find solutions. We're
empowering families with programs, knowledge and tools to have healthy pregnancies. Together with our
supporters and partners, we're uniting communities to ensure the best possible start for families everywhere.
