1904 O PCGSMS64DMPL V28A

Here is one of my very lucky finds, a long time ago, on Ebay.
My 1904 O PCGSMS64DMPL V28A in an OGH.
I'm slowly learning how to use my Phone, to take these pictures and transfer them to my laptop 'My Pictures'.
I had posted pictures on the old Vamworld and they attributed it for me and believe me I was very excited.
I had originally seen it listed on Ebay many years ago and won it, because it was housed in an PCGS OGH.
Enjoy, Bert

Taking photos of DMPL coins takes time and practice to reflect the true image. Been there, too much light, too little, too close, too far away, macro setting or normal. Keep practicing, you find the right combo.
I thought I get the die markers for the VAM 28A, with my phone clearly.
The neck and the bottom of the jaw and the curved clash running up, from the wing, to the G, IN GOD WE TRUST
Are you saying you are having trouble seeing them?
Don't regrade it!
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
Yes, I Agee with the above. Whatever you do, keep It in its holder.
Well, just Love coins, period.
THANK YOU everyone!
I think, that it was in the older green PCGS holder, in why I bid and won it a LONG time ago and only after getting it in had, was I able to see the neck and wing clashes.
I am ready to post another 1883 O silver dollar, that I have had for a LONG time.
It has the green label, but has small letters PCGS all over it.
I think they had told me, that it was a dolly green label?
I just tried to post a picture, but for some reason it didn't open up My Pictures, so I could click the picture, when it said Choose File.
I tried to drag the picture over, but it didn't list on my post.
It doesn’t appear remotely DMPL from those photos. I stress appear from photos.

Nice coin, clash marks from the Vam are cool, not sure they add any value but an added bonus. DMPLs are really hard to capture with pics. At some point, I run out of patience trying to get it right. We will have to trust your judgement the mirrors are solid. Looks like an PCGS gen 2 holder from the late 80's.
we can see them. it's just hard to do a dmpl
You could use mineral oil to remove the image of the slab.

here is a thread about the pictures of pl and dmpl coins
dmpl coins are hard
The 1904-O in DMPL is hard to find with really good mirrors and contrast. Many wouldn't qualify for DMPL today. That's why when I found this MS65DMPL CAC I had to grab it last year.

I've been collecting silver dollars for at least 50 years.
I've been told 'over and over' that one of the big reasons for 'finding coins in the old green slabs', is because the grading was MUCH MORE STRICK, back then.
I always buy the coin regardless, not the holder.
If you had this 1904 O silver dollar in hand you would agree, that it is a PCGSMS64DMPL, 'no question about it'.
The problem is my lack of expensive photo equipment and the skill, on the pictures, that you are seeing.
I had posted it, because I was told on the old Vamworld, a long time ago, that a 1904 O VAM 28A in DMPL was very rare, when they helped me attribute it.
I agree, that the PCGS Trueview pictures are TOPS, because they have the expensive photo equipment and skill.
The VAM may be rare but that doesn't mean it's valuable. IME, only the top 100 tend to carry a premium and even then it might not be much.
With regard to old holders and PL/DMPL designations, old holders from PCGS and NGC tended to be more generous with these designations, not tighter. So while you might get a point bump to 65, I wouldn't expect it to DMPL. Today they are tighter than ever with this designation.
Updated to add: Sorry, I didn't realize it was already DMPL when I first wrote this.

All you want to do is argue ProofCollection Posts.
First, you question PCGS, on grading this BEAUTIFUL DMPL 1904 O.
Second, I NEVER SAID IT WAS MORE VALUABLE, I SAID THAT VAMWORLD HAD TOLD ME, THAT IT WAS RARE, in DMPL!
I think you are upset or jealous , because you don't have a 1904 O VAM 28A, in a DMPL condition.
Hi Bert,
A good practice on forums is not to guess "why" a person said something.
Much better to focus on the coins.
Often people who say something that feels negative did not intend it, and are actually friendly.
I KNOW, I'm sorry I didn't see the lower comment, until I had already sent the post.
At 81 now and living alone, I sometimes get upset easily.
Luckily (knock on wood), I'm still healthy and walk back into my woods often, now that it is summer and the trees are full of GREEN leaves again and the deer run around and are safe back there.

they lost the person with skill to great collections auction house
now the pictures are mostly not good to the point some are wondering if they can ask pcgs to remove the pictures from the cert page
