This Eisenhower dollar was willed to me, how can I tell if it's real.

You can tell with experience and a good eye. That being said, low-value coins are usually not counterfeited, so the chances of encountering a fake copper-nickel clad Eisenhower dollar are low. Your coin is real and is worth 1 dollar based on its condition.
Is there a reason you believe it’s not real?
It would actually be worth more if it was a counterfeit.
Go buy something at the dollar store. If they take it, it's real. If they won't take it, it's fake.

many people these days are not aware of half dollars, dollar coins large and small and $2 (i was at a bank, asked for half dollars and they tried to give me some south american country's 50 centavos)
just take it to a bank. they will hate you for asking for a $1 bill
