1730 Mexico cob 8 Reales cast fake... yet again

This cast has been around for like 60 years. Reasonably decent, but almost always 4g or so underweight and honestly, if you're good you can tell.
I HAVE pics of one in a PCGS holder and one in NGC.

Would you be willing to tell me more about detection? I’d like to get one of these someday, but really don’t want to get burned. DM me if you prefer, I know sometimes it’s better to not publicize counterfeit detection so we don’t help the counterfeiter people “fix” their errors.
I'm BACK!!! Used to be Billet7 on the old forum.
I do see that many of them have a “bubbly” surface of sorts. The weight seems a really easy indicator, but the “clipped” designation gives me pause.

If you know how real macuquinas were made you should realize that each has a unique shape and strike. Also the whole point of them being cut that way was to get them to be within weight tolerance -- 4gm low would have been way out of normal tolerance and would result in being melt down and recast.
I own one of these pieces, but I am not an expert by any means. The thing I don’t like about this one is that the date is “too convenient.” Most of these pieces don’t have a readable date. My piece has one, but it’s not complete. It’s why I bought it. I’ll add it to this post tomorrow.m
The pieces are identical, clearly fakes.
