Is Receiving dept at PCGS slow or did they lose my package?

SametsSamets Posts: 201 ✭✭✭

Package shipped on 5/19 and received by PCGS on the 20th at 10:30am
Checked this morning and Find My Package does not show receipt by PCGS.

I may be wrong but I've never seen it take more than a day to reflect receipt of the package...

Give it a little longer. It should be fine!

Give it 4 business days max. Did you check Find my Package?

    I read too fast, thanks.

I'm sure the package will be registered with Find my package by day's end.

A phone call sure couldn't hurt also.

4 business days would make it Monday. I'm sure they have it and it's fine just never seen it take more than a day to scan the package in...

Do NOT know if it is still 'applicable/correct', but this bullet from the submission guidelines might explain the delay in receipt acknowledgement.

FWIW, the FAQ page says the same thing.

@MetroD This is new. I’ve been using UPS for years and never had an issue.

FWIW, it was news to me too. That said, since you and @PCGS_Hy communicated via DM, I do not know if UPS was the root cause of your delayed receipt acknowledgement, or if something else occurred. I just hope it worked out for you.

Notwithstanding, your thread drew attention to the current carrier restriction. As such, it could potentially help someone else avoid an 'issue/delay'. :)

I sent a package to the fedex hold station the other day, does that still work for Bulk?

    Hello!

I recommend being sure to follow the instructions on our Package and Mail coins page. We have two different addresses you can use for either USPS or FedEx listed there.

Over the course of the exchange with our hosts, did you receive guidance regarding use of UPS?

@messydesk We are no longer to use UPS since they may decline the package.
Every single submission sent in by me has been through UPS but gong forward, FedEx is the preferred service of PCGS.

Why doesn't PCGS allow coins to be submitted using UPS when they allow FedEx? Also, if someone sends their coins using UPS, will PCGS refuse delivery?

  • Hello,

We will not refuse delivery of UPS, but we only recommend using USPS and FedEx.

Respectfully, that is not what your 'submission guidelines' and 'FAQs' say.

Customers rely on the PCGS website for information. If the current policy for UPS is accept, the website needs to be updated.

    Edited.

  • As mentioned, we only accept USPS or FedEx. If sent by UPS, there is no guarantee this will be accepted or make it here safely. The website is correct.
