All are counterfeit. Wonder if someone is testing their counterfeiting skills?
That is stupid.
God comes first in everything I do. I’m dedicated to serving Him with my whole life. Coin collecting is just a hobby—but even in that, I seek to honor Him. ✝️
Weird.
Wish there were images. Perhaps they were counterfeit error coins that the submitter thought were real?
a waste of money, whatever make you happy
How in the world can you have a counterfeit modern cent??

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.

That was my first thought.

maybe they were fake error coins? I’m just guessing
30+ years coin shop experience (ret.) Coins, bullion, currency, scrap & interesting folks. Loved every minute!
My money's on the "counterfeit" meaning the error is counterfeit, and the label on the body bag saying "Man-Made Mint Error". I got a coin graded details damage and only learned the specific type of damage (wrap machine) when it arrived.

If "fake errors", it's possibly one of the new posters who claimed to have all sorts of errors but didn't believe the feedback here.
A tuition payment.
"Fake errors" as in coins squeezed in a vise or similar? I recall many of these posts last year... I was on more then...

I'd really like to see images of these. Assuming they were thought to be errors, are they real coins with damage simulating errors or counterfeit coins produced as errors?

Very curious. Thanks for sharing this.
I wish PCGS would differentiate between a true counterfeit and a post-mint altered coin.
None of the above are likely counterfeits yet more so altered man-made 'errors'.
Definition:
Counterfeit coins are fake coins created with the intent to deceive and defraud, often mimicking genuine coins to pass them off as real. They are** not produced by the official mint** and are made to resemble genuine currency to confuse buyers and collectors.

"no number" makes me think man made error. odd that a country wasn't assigned
Reminds me of scene in Vegas Vacation.

I would bet money these were "errors" that got submitted.
A counterfeit 2022-D BN cent? Now that is crazy. There is a 2022-D minor DDR but certainly not enough value to grade and PCGS would be unlikely to even grade it. Probably PMD and someone not too bright sent it in.
I'm betting it was an internal test, possibly of the changes in their website's submission system. Some edge cases. It's better practice to test on a test system but non-destructive tests can be done on a production system without much risk.

I was thinking someone submitted a junction box knock-out. Whatever it is, if this submission is from a customer and not some internal test, @pcgs_education should see if it's something that could be used to help other collectors avoid this kind of tuition payment.

Maybe a counterfeiter testing their skills to see if it passes muster. There are a few countries know to be counterfeiters.
