Two different bidders place the same maximum bid ($36,250) at the same time left in the auction on a 1948-49 Leaf Jackie Robinson RC PSA-6.5?

I have never seen that before….but just happened!

    I would imagine whichever bid came in first. Even if it is just by a millisecond.

    Since it is placed at the exact same time (not sure the EBay clock is in milliseconds)..it shows no clear winner. I would assume both would be willing to honor his or her bid… so what then?

    it would have been interesting if they had both been using the same sniping service, set at the same time for the same amount.

    Not a very appealing 6.5 for the money. Your SGC 5 is much better.

    I can't believe not one but two people bid an even $36,250.

    To beat last minute snipers, etc. advance/proxy bids should end in an odd amount, such as $36,250.01, or any other small amount in cents or even a few dollars.

    I've won a number of auctions by one cent or a few cents.

    Agree…I do not like the side-to-side centering on this one.

    When bidding a flat amount, I've won by a penny over bidders who went $something.99 and lost by a penny to bidders who went $something.01, and won items by sniping the exact same amount as the underbidder who was a second too late. If you do this enough, you will have occasional experiences where worlds collide. I recently lost a really good eBay deal by 2 cents as the underbidder. Still kicking myself over that.

    Pretty sure Ebay policy is to instantly ban the 2 parties as they caused a problem for ebay. Also they charge the seller a proper high fee as they tempted the 2 others to be involved.

    The same time probably does not mean the same time. I am sure one of them was recorded first in EBay’s system.

    Under the hood they should be recorded at the nanosecond level which currently ensures that even en mass from same sniping service there will be a difference. But with eBay who knows, they might have just flipped a coin to determine a winner...
