Machine doubling ?

Hello new to collecting and would like info regarding this 1941 D quarter. It has moderate doubling on the reverse is this machine doubling. Why is it mirror on every letter of DDR FS-801 for that coin. I appreciate any input thank you

Yes, machine doubling. The easy way to tell is that actual die doubling will include the serif.
Interesting coin, i see a repunched mint mark but don’t see any listed on Coinfacts..
It’s just pure happenstance that the machine doubling on your coin goes the opposite direction of the DDR. There’s no real “why” to it.
