I picked this up from a seller I've used over several years. What do you think of it? GTG if you think it would grade or if not, why? Thanks
Jim

Many of these key dates were cleaned gently with baking soda back in the 1960s. This one has that look.

I think it’s great for an album. XF details, cleaned. Hopefully it was wholesale priced ….But if not, it still looks wholesome enough to fill a hole.

I think that it’s genuine, lightly cleaned, and has a decent shot at straight grading around XF 40.

Is that a bunch of scratches around the mint mark?

    1932-S Light Motto.

    XF-40 seems right.

I think it would straight grade as an XF but wouldn’t spend the money to submit it.

Thank you, but going in my album. Looks like an album coin. After 20 years decided to finish my national coin album and couldn't turn down the price.

Saw that and thought maybe someone ground the D off to put an S MM, but then thought nah, too much trouble. ;)

Thanks, Greg, guessed xf40 as well. So $81 a fair investment for an album?

Comparable cleaned XF's are bringing over $100 on eBay, straight graded around $140.

High VF low XF. I think it would straight grade.

My first impression when I looked at it was VF, but it seems like you've gotten opinions from more experienced eyes than mine saying XF. Either way sounds like the price you paid is right, and I'm thinking it looks much better actual size and not blown up like it is here. Keep at it and get that set finished. :)

It looks like a high-end VF. Also, it doesn't look cleaned to me. Rather, it may be the harsh lighting that it was photographed with that shows all the fine hairlines it picked up under circulation. Looks like a great choice for a coin album

Album coin. I would not submit this one as I do look the odds of a straight grade. If the holder is important to you, buy one in the holder.
