@MFeld - Mark, does heritage accept the Deluxe type e checks that are sent via email? I don't recall seeing that last time I checked the options but that would surprise me if you guys didn't.

Dan, I don’t know but will see what I can find out on Monday and let know, either way.

@PeakRarities - Dan, following up on this and the answer is yes. Feel free to message me for additional details.

Just to add that the convenience of bank checks is undeniable for recurring payments and IMO provides better control than setting up
Automatic payments. Takes me less than 5 minutes to pay my recurring bills.

It takes me zero seconds. Why is zero not more "convenient" than 5 minutes?

As he said, better control. For example, managing different dates to make payments vs a set automatic payment.

I was referring to recurring payments - utilities, HOA dues, etc. as payments that can be fully automated, but which I prefer to control. As far as HA and GC I use the e-payment option as it isn’t fully automated.

I'm a little confused. Your bank sends Heritage checks on your behalf?
Don't you have checks you can mail yourself so you don't have to wait the bank processing time?

I don't write checks anymore. I'm using what is commonly known as a bank Bill Payment service. On my computer I request the bank to make the payments. It takes money out of my checking account and it's free. All of my bills are paid next day, electronically. Some board members have said their bank's services are not the best. My bank's Bill Payment services have been superb. Anyway, Heritage is an exception in that they don't accept ACH payments that I initiate. They only accept ACH payments that they initiate (and I authorize each time, which I learned from this board). Thus, my bank is forced to mail them a check.

Whether I mail a check or my bank mails a check it doesn't get there any faster. The issue is the post office and Heritage has stated they do not have confidence in the post office's ability to deliver mail on time. Others have posted that they have had no problem mailing checks to Heritage. In my case when I started using checks, instead of a credit card, both checks took longer than seven days to be delivered. So I will be making other arrangements to pay Heritage.

I hope this is helpful. The purpose of my posting was to alert fellow board members that mailing a check to Heritage is a risk if it is not received within seven days.

So, therein lies the issue, you described it yourself in this post. I have used echeck with HA going on 15 years and not a single issue, and, payment is instantaneous. Golly I don’t get my 1% for a CC, oh no. And you start a thread about you being late when options for rapid response is available? Hmm……………..

Sorry, you lost me, no disrespect. You offer eChecks? You don't accept credit cards? My credit card would cover the 2.9% Heritage surcharge.

Can’t believe I’m being drawn into this. Sometimes I use automatic withdrawals for convenience, sometimes I use bank checks for control and convenience. Depends on the size and nature of the transaction. Periodic Insurance premiums are the best example of using bank checks for cost control. My point about the convenience of bank checks is that they are way more convenient than me writing a check and mailing it.

I'm having my own problem right now with Heritage.

In tonight's coin auction, I'm constantly being kicked out, and having to re-login every 2 minutes or so. Then, when I finally was able to get a bid in, it told me I'm not authorized to bid. I've been an authorized bidder with them for at least 18 years (the oldest item in my orders list is from 2007). So for the half-dozen or so coins I wanted to bid on tonight, they're all lost.

I've recently won two coins from Heritage: one on May 1st, that I paid on May 3rd; and one on May 6th that I paid on the 7th; both by credit card (I have email confirmation of the payments being received by Heritage). Interestingly, I just got the coin I won on the 6th, yesterday. The coin I won on May 1st though, is still showing as "priority order processing". All I can think is that Heritage for some reason, thinks I haven't paid for the $151 coin I won on the 1st, even though I have an email from them saying they received it, and according to my credit card company, the charge went through with no problems.

I guess I'll see what's going on tomorrow when I'm able to actually talk with someone at Heritage.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who uses a credit card to buy coins. :)
