1963 D Lincoln Penny

Looking for some feedback on this beautiful 1963 Penny. I'd say a MS 65? Looks like the grime preserved the steps perfectly.

Don't you see dozens of cuts/hits/scratches on both sides? 🤔
Looks AU at best
Lightly circulated AU. Extremely common. Cents of that year were hoarded in huge numbers. They continue to enter circulation when the original owners die and the heirs quickly dump all of the coins they find in the estate.
Definitely not MS
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
Also AU at worst. No shot down to XF.

Nice coin for a coin folder or album, not MS much less MS65.
My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Almost as nice as mine. That gouge in the '9' is disturbing though.
“I believe in intuitions and inspirations. I sometimes feel that I am right. I do not know that I am. When two expeditions of scientists, financed by the Royal Academy, went forth to test my theory of relativity, I was convinced that their conclusions would tally with my hypothesis. I was not surprised when the eclipse of May 29, 1919, confirmed my intuitions. I would have been surprised if I had been wrong. I am enough of the artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” Albert Einstein- quoted in Saturday Evening Post interview (1929)
“Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters.” For Einstein, honesty was fundamental. Attention to truth in small things reflected a person’s integrity on a larger scale.
it's got quite the number of marks on it. even if it were uncirculated it would not pass as a 65, but it is an au anyway
even if it could pass as a 58, it wont pass as a 58+ so grading it hoping it will go into an everyman's registry set is low and it would be extremely cost prohibitive to grade
you got a coi album coin. the brown skin on it is natural and attractive as a brown. don't disturb that color
Thanks for the feedback, I found this 63 to be worthy of sharing.
i love all coins even album coins
Welcome,
Members post pretty change finds on occasion. A before shot would add interest to your post—description of how it was cleaned properly, perhaps.
I spare the other members the comedy of my grading skills, though.
