Post your Columbus and/or discovery of America related coins.
Picked this up on a whim, from eBay, back in 2011. Less than $10, but I really liked it.
Latin American Collection
I was surprised to learn recently that Columbia also issued a commemorative 50 centavos in 1892. I used to think that we were the only country that issued an 1892 Columbus coin.
I like this one and quite rare:
Another Rarity from Jamaica: 1975 FM Matte Uncirculated 10 Dollars Mintage: 30. Only documented specimen
It is known that Columbus' three ships had red Christian crosses placed on the sails, either cross pattée's or similar crosses.
Sometimes the crosses appear on Columbus-related coins showing the ships and sometimes they do not.
United States Half Dollar Colombian Exposition 1893 No crosses
Italy 500 Lire 1966 With crosses

Beat this: Columbus ships on both sides!
Saw this on ebay. Sad when private 1oz rounds have better designs than coins.
