Decent day. Got to buy a collection.

Of course any day could be a good day. A few years ago I met the car wash maintenance guy and I mentioned I’d pay him for any silver pulled from changes boxes. Been doing that every month.
Last month, he said his father (83 yoa) had some coins for me to look at, and I bought those 4 silver dollars and a couple of Franklin half dollars. On closing that deal, he mentioned that his aunt, his father’s sister, has a coin collection and silver bars that were her father-in-law’s.
All I know right now is that it’s too heavy for her to carry. This one is exciting to me. I’ve done too many of these that ended up being a bunch of mint sets or a handfull of wheat cent in an old sock with a pile of state quarters.
Wish me luck. I’ll update later today.

Good luck; most of these calls in my experience are owners looking for retail as their "research" has been unrealistic at best.
Good luck, hope you find something nice!
My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Good luck! 9/10 of my calls are complete BS, SBAs and clad Ikes. The remaining 1/10 are ok silver deals here and there, and I had one big gold deal that I did well on (I sat on the gold for a couple months and sold +500/oz higher).
Keep me in mind if there’s any poured vintage bars that look interesting, I could help with pricing and more. Most have no premium at all, but the really old ones do. My cell is on my website if you need some immediate assistance.

Well that was an OK meeting. Some of the usual 90%, rounds, miscellaneous common Morgan’s and Peace. Two men’s class rings 10k and 14k. And the 1899 eagle but only a 60. Still have some dry powder for the next coin show too.
Nice looking haul. Better that what I was expecting.

"vintage" style silver bars do not necessarily have to be old to command a premium.
For example, Dennis England "fantasy" silver bars circa 2000 typically sell for $500 to $1,000 (or more) for small bars that weigh an ounce or two.

Yea, I could have worded that better but I was trying to say that most bars have no premiums, typically I get the older engelhard and RCM bars that have no premiums in the current market. Better phrasing for a quick generalization might have been “The really old ones tend to, and then you have the not-so-old niche bars with a strong following.”

This deal only had one older silvertowne one ounce bar worth melt. There were 10 sunshine minting one ounce bars but you know you gotta be careful with those. I think they were right but I need to get one of the decoder screens.
