Anyone ever have success getting a usps stolen coin recovered?

I recieved a slit open package without an ngc certified coin in it. I have a picture and cert number but usps has been no help. Any thoughts? It's been months so I'm assuming it's gone forever.

    Was it insured? Did you get a payout from insurance? If so, then it's no longer your coin.

    Were the Postal Inspectors involved?

    Too many unknowns here.

    But if it was "slit open" instead of "split open", I wouldn't be holding my breath.

    No the seller didn't insure it. No pay off from usps. Seller isn't any help. I guess there's a fine line between split and slit.

    Seller says usps tracking delivered so no help. Going with PayPal or ebay guarantee now

    If it was a Priority Mail label it's automatically insured for $50.

    In my area, the Postman is dropping packages in my mailbox WITHOUT obtaining the required adult signature. Delivery "tracking" and signature required are different things. You may have recourse if the latter was required and they can't provide verification for the signature.

    Does the material give rise to the immaterial, or vice versa?

    I have never had luck on getting one that was obviously stolen back, but Have had a lost coin or two show up months later, one a year later.

    No; my own package was also slot open (it had been sturdily taped) and it was frustrating dealing with the post office. At the time I was acquainted with a retiree from the office who assured me 1--it happens all the time, 2--it gets shrugged off. Theft is easy. USPS should be privatized.

    usps says lost Las Vegas hub- disappeared forever. Gold coin.

    I've had packages stolen while USPS had possession. I had to file a claim and received the default PM $100 insurance. It took a while. I got the $100 back. I use Pirate Ship, and the carrier is USPS /UPS.
