SILVER...
OH, not bad at all!
Alright guys, that's it!
The 4 BLASTERS

If it wasn't for that early ROA Ken Griffey
This would have really been a disaster!
Thank you all!
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!

One thing to keep in mind on the Griffey and checking recent sales prices is these cards are most valuable right after the product is released, especially when its graded product on something just released in the last couple months and the POPs are super low because noone can submit that card for standard grading and have received it back yet. So built into that $200 price is someone spent a lot to rush grade and then the biggest fans of The Big Red Machine probably scooped up the very limited copies at a premium.
So if it was a PSA 10 and you paid a premium to expedite the grading and flipped it immediately, you could do okay. But if you graded it and let it sit in the collection for 2-3 years it probably has a massive decrease in sales price. The story can be different for a young active player like Bobby Witt, clearly submit that 2 years ago and hold and it has upside. But a retired non-HOFer think it goes down after the initial hype of the set wears off. Looked for a comp and saw an ungraded 2022 George Foster for 17.99. Then both 2022 and 2023 both had PSA 10 HOFer Juan Marichal sales at $75. So if PSA 10, in 2 to 3 years, maybe 50 something. But if its just about appreciating the card graded, who cares about all that.
Pic of the front did not capture all of it so hard to say from that how it might grade. Reverse looks to have a small ding in the upper left which may keep it from being a 10. Its a shame on the Real One Autos cause they seem like they can get a little banged up. Just like at a card show, you never know how the signer will handle your card, may fingernail it or bend it. They just want to get their auto on it sometimes, not try to maintain its mintness or gem mintness.

Yeah, too bad it wasn't Jr. Instead, huh? You're probably correct in your assumptions about sitting on Sr.'s card.
Thank you, for all your interest and concern for my future thinking about the card/s!
It's something how "genetics" doesn't always play a part of the player's kids in sports!
One child can either produce BETTER analysis' than the father or some can NOT show the talent that Dad had!
So, in the end. It's more in one's Mind or Brain, than physical!
Meaning, what and how, the child learns and practices more, is what matters most!
Genetics end up having really NO PART! Hmmmmm?

Sure thing on the interest and concern. If I understood correctly, you had been into coins previously and are now venturing more into cards so if you are just getting your feet wet in this space, want to share any battle scars and insights received to make it easier and have you not have to endure any of the frustrations me or others have experienced over the years. But if it gets annoying, I understand. Just let me know and I'll pull the plug.
Hear you on the father son situations. At times, it does seem like the sons can maybe take the genes and the dad's wisdom and tutelage and do better than them, as with Ken Griffey Jr. and Barry Bonds. Bo Bichette was thinking maybe he would have the better career but early to say. Cavan Biggio, dad will probably have the far superior resume. On Jack Leiter and Vlad Guerrero Jr. hope they will be the better of the father son because I am heavily invested, more on the latter. Jackson Holliday too.
As for your card with the better pics, tough call. I can see them finding reasons to say its a 9. You never know how good a mood your grader will be in. The centering looks nice and there is some modest corner wear. Hard to say if its too much. But nice to have a cool minty maybe gem minty card graded or not.
Thanks
About the coins...
I have no real gripes or debates in the hobby. As a matter of fact, coin collecting is an Awesome hobby!
Very exciting and fun!
My decision to leave, is only my personal choice.
Reason: Mostly because my eyes needed a rest!
Too much for my aging eyes! 😆
Plus, the fact that the general Sportscards industry, right now is on
FIRE! 🔥📛
Oh,
One more thing about coins.
I use to cherry pick SILVER at the banks.
Meaning, I use to buy cases of coins;
Half Dollars
Quarters
Dimes...
Very HEAVY boxes!
Not only my eyes needed a break but my back, as well!
On the many profits I achieved!
Just a few to mention. One visit to the bank produced over a $200 profit by finding SILVER in a case of Half Dollars!
Many other SILVER finds in different denominations.
Also, Found a new Quarter, 2023, non- Silver. Sold it for
$500. (Strike Through) or Error Coin. My own discovery! I named it, "Burning Airplane"
Those are just a couple of my profitable coin collecting stories.
😆
Thanks

That is great on your coin success stories. That sounds like a great time doing those searches and having those victories. Sounds like it can be similar to the cards where you have your great days finding nice surprises at shows yard sales shops and opening packs and boxes.
I hear ya on the back issues. I have those as well and consider that with the collection these days. I hoarded stuff in my younger days not looking at it from that angle. Now I have these wide boxes that can hold a few thousand cards that weigh a lot and are awkward to lean over and pick up. May need to break those guys up into smaller boxes. The cards can be rough on your back sometimes too depending on the situation.
Fits with my goal of consigning big quantities of graded cards that were disappointments, financial losses and hoping to turn the funds into a few cards I love. Cause if we ever move out of here, would not have look forward to carrying all that stuff out of the house. Its a work in progress. Getting smaller lighter, higher in quality.
