    At least the seller is honest within his auction description.

    I see the fakes are now being artifically 'aged' too.

    It's a modern bad counterfeit. The seller is the usual scam artist.

    Here are the photos cropped and adjusted so people can see what it looks like.

    Listed with genuine US dimes the seller does claim it is a contemporary counterfeit minted in the United States and plated with Sterling silver.

    It appears to be a modern cast counterfeit of base metal. It did only bring about $42 delivered so it didn't fool too many people.

    $42 is still too much for that thing. A 50 cent junk box find would be more in line. Don't feed the wicked.

    I agree and change my first perception of this seller.
    Calling this a "Contemporary counterfeit" is deceptive and I too agree the value is negligible.
