*Updated Photos* Grading a cc Morgan - From terrible screen shots!

Looking for some best guesses as to the grade on this 1880 CC Morgan from these terrible screenshots. Looks like it’s a VAM-4 80 over 79 from what I can tell. Reverse looks to be in higher grade than obverse but didn’t know if that was typical. Also have some toning that might not be enough to impact value. Thanks for your help and I know without better pictures it’s a touch ask!

Appears cleaned/rubbed from photos, esp the obverse, might be an AU details. Does look like the 80/79 Vam.

    XF most likely cleaned

XF, maybe cleaned. Realize that close to 1/4 of the 80-CC mintage was sold in the GSA sales. The price curve for circulated 80-CCs is pretty flat, so little things that make a coin look nice for the grade aren't going to mean much when it comes to price.

Thanks for the quick responses! What would be a decent price to pay on a coin like this be?

That depends largely upon how it's graded.

Is the seller unwilling to show a full photo of the holder with grade?

XF retail is 460. A cleaned XF will be far less than that. Without knowing if and how the coin is graded, one can't know what a decent price is.

EF40/45; worth less than were it in better original condition.

I think the holder is just a generic holder not from a grading company. If it is cleaned is it a $300 coin?

Every collector has his/her own set of parameters. My question would be why would you want to mess with one like this when you can get a PCGS straight graded one for $150 or so more?

Nice reverse of '78, but unfortunately still cleaned.

35-40 cleaned, the new scans shows heavier wear than first seen.

The experts above already told you what you need to know.

My grade would be either XF details, or XF 40 (netted for cleaning) if a straight grade is required, gun to my head. NGC is typically charitable with coins like this, it's probably in a 50 holder. I don't love it, I think you can do better.

Just so you know these appear to be quite available, in fact abundant, on GC currently.

The coin looks (like a just make it) AU detail, cleaned to me. But a straight grade 45 or 50 wouldn’t surprise me.
