I really hope this is just an April Fool's Day prank, but happening so late in the day I doubt it. Regardless, it looks awful, but I have to post to see what my avatar looks like in this nightmare.

This too shall pass. Either a bug, or an April fool's joke, or just the next thing we'll learn to live with. If it's the latter, this might need to be addressed.
If we were all the same, the world would be an incredibly boring place.
Who will be the first to get a Green Bean to fill the oval perfectly? Who can successsfully fill their ovals so they look normal? @TomB 's icon looks good without anything clipped off.
CSS change that apparently wasn't cross tested properly for all browsers/phones. Standard ops for website updates. Give it time for them to sort it out. I'm sure they'd like to hear the various bugs - it helps for UAT and fixitis

is this the new thing?
Yes, that is the current Collectors Inc logo.

My coin moniker now looks like it went through a coin elongation machine!
I thought that at first, too.
But while the shape is an ellipse, but it is actually an ellipse crop.
Not a distortion / horizontal stretching of the original image.
My original image is a small square. The ellipse crop rounds the top and bottom a little bit.
The sides are empty (white). So the crop is larger horizontally than my original image.
I see that some of the nanny's posts have disappeared. Do we now have an option to delete our own posts instead of just deleting the text and leaving a blank post?

Unless or until this is straightened out, when starting new threads, some of us might want to include our usernames in the thread title. That way others will at least know who started the threads.
On the other hand, some posters might like it better the way it is.😉

No one should post any parking lot finds or 1964 SMS half dollars until this is fixed. And maybe that boycott should continue even if they fix the site, just to let them know we're serious. 😠
On a forum about coins, with so many members using coins for their avatars, an oval cropping is... a choice.
Also the top bar formatting is broken
At least we can still paste pictures into the text field.
I don't mind minor formatting changes, as long as the functionality is there. For example, I have gone through a period where my comments were "in moderation" (and never posted) due to a glitch. Looks like that is fixed now... he says with fingers and toes crossed...
But I will weigh in: oval avatars on a coin site is a wee bit odd. Looks kinda like a CAC bean shape to me. heheh

If today was April 1, I’d be tempted to post that it looked like CAC had taken over the site.😉

how do people feel about the BOLD text for the thread names?
too bold, too large
the oval avatars have to go, right?
Less enjoyable to read, maybe that is the goal?

I don't see a problem with it.
It will just take a little time to get used to the new look.
May just be a heads up that Collectors Universe is in the process of being taken over by CAC.
Mine did too, and I am sure I don't like it!

Awful. Put it back the way it was.
Anyone understand why the 'Notifications, Inbox, and Bookmarks" icons look like this?
Didn't the old version show the name of the intial person posting?
Yes.

The number of messages used to be bold. Now it blends in with the rest, example "My Bookmarks."
And when you try and add an image, half of the pop up box goes off screen to the right.
