Thank You to PCGS Customer Service

A really nice addition to my collection

could not be added to any of my Seated Half dollar sets as an 1861-O.
I contacted PCGS and the issue was fixed quickly - I could add the half dollar. However the set calculation didn't work properly for the new coin. A follow-up contact with customer service set that follow-on issue right within a day.
Thanks very much to customer service (Emilio Gutierrez, principally) for fixing my multiple problems.
Way too pretty a coin not to be in the registry.

  • Awesome coin...I wonder how many other gems like this one are being held out of the Registry because of PCGS's digital problems...

Would you like the answer in units of months, years or centuries?

Here’s an update on a personal issue I’ve had with Set Registry. Since my Activity page has been broken for many months, I’ve had difficulty getting coins added to my Registry that remained in a prior owners Registry. However, with the help of @PCGS_Hy and Emilio, EVERY one of those coins have now been added to my sets! Those two guys made this task so easy. Two of these coins were even disputed by a prior owner, with him responding to Set Registry that HE still owned and had those coins. But as noted, they are now in my sets!

As many of you know, I’m quick to criticize PCGS for choosing to not allocate a knowledgeable IT person to fix the Activity page which has been broken for many of us for many months. On the other hand, I must give credit where it’s warranted, and Emilio and @PCGS_Hy deserve tremendous kudos for the problems they’ve been solving with less staff than PCGS had previously allocated to Set Registry. While the participation in the Set Registry has grown over the last several years, it’s disappointing that PCGS bean counters have apparently reduced the personnel needed to fully run the Set Registry efficiently.
