I suppose the date looks fake but everything else about this counterfeit from China looks pretty scary good to me.
I have an ongoing saved search for Seated halves, mostly CC, there are TONS of crappy looking fakes all the sudden but I stumbled across this one and am starting to get worried about how good they're getting.

They're using a picture of a genuine coin. Nothing wrong with the date. Here's another genuine one in an NGC slab.
Here's a CoinFacts XF40:

Can't speak to OP's coin, but throughout the series, the date position and mintmark position will vary depending upon the die used.

Does the mint mark size and position match any other 1866 to 1869-S WM Half? My gut feeling is that the obverse photo is of a genuine coin but that it has been photoshopped in the last digit. Buy the coin and get a different, fake coin.

OK, That makes more sense. The seller states "15 available" at $38 bucks with delivery from China.
These are the same sellers, or are using the same paradigm, as sellers who list fake Barber half dollars at $29 or $39 while using images of genuine EF coins…
