What might have caused the mark on this dime?

Never seen this before but assume damage after production. And as some of you have mentioned that I'm probably
not that bright anyway. I would rather ask than assume.
Don't matter how you do it, just do it like you know it!

Show your thought process. List 3 reasons why you think it is damage and 3 reasons why you think it was produced that way.
If you can't come up with 3 reasons in one of those categories, that's a good sign that the other category is the right one...
Post mint damage... grinding... you can see the scratches from the abrasions.

It is damage after it left the mint.
