Canada Post: Seems all packages are now getting this message

Just sent a package out yesterday (Canada Post Registered Mail) and has not reached customs yet. My package contains a coin.
Scan says:
''Delivery may be delayed due to public authority Canada''
I have never seen this before.

I read that Canada Post started adding that message/scan to pretty much all US-bound parcels at the end of last week.
So if you ordered from Canada expect some delays. I think it has to do with the war on drugs and/or the tariffs.
The expected delivery date was changed to 1 added day to arrive in my case. This could change still and could possibly be delayed a bit more.

Good to know. I expect it will be a lot more delayed than 1 day though. I wonder if this also applies to letters/cards sent or just parcels?

It seems Canada Post is implementing additional processing steps for international shipments. Have you noticed a pattern in the delay times? Tracking inconsistencies can be frustrating, but contacting customer support for clarification might provide better insight into these changes.
My package arrived to the USA within 3 business days (and delivered with no issues.....includes some movement during the weekend so 5 days total) so it arrived faster than usual for Registered.
