Of course when I do my find totals I don’t count my paper finds. I made sure that I walked the fence line but no more paper Best weather for detecting this year so far

Great find! The best I’ve been able to come across in paper is a $20 caught along the bottom of a chain link fence.
Nice. I haven’t been out detecting yet this year but I have been harvesting the hockey pucks at the pond. 112 so far. A banners year.
Ver nice! How do you clean without damage, just water and softbristled brush? And of the $7.56, how many non modern (silver before 1965, wheat before 1959)?
Nothing old in the change. I clean the dirty stuff in a rock tumbler with sand, dish soap and water for about 3 hours or so. then lay it on a drying rack. And then take it to the bank counting machine at no cost. If there is something really crappy I spend it a little at a time mostly Zinkins that way.

Wow, you're brave, I'd have never picked up a hundred unless I had glove or something, and I would want to have it tested for drugs before I took it to a bank.

Is it such a problem in (parts of) the US?
Here in central Europe all the cash is usually very safe, I have never heared of any cases about significant contaminations wich may affect your health.
Many years ago I was a waiter and used to take a cab to work. One day I got in the cab and there were six $100 bills on the back floorboard of the cab. I made $100 in tips that night and found two dollars on the floor on the way to the restroom. $702 night. That was a fortune for me back then.
I've never had an adverse reaction to picking up currency

Wow, congrats! Thats a hefty score.
People are nuts. There have been many well documented cases of someone soaking a fifty or hundred in phentonyl and then leaving it on top of a bush or on the sidewalk just to see someone potentially die from it. People who are men messed up.
This said, I would still pick it up, but only with gloves, and I would have the police test it before doing anything with it.

An acquaintance of mine found one in a bathroom at a restaurant, and the police tested it for free. It turned out to be perfectly safe.
