Early White Label 1 of first 2,350 PCGS graded slabs
Thought this very early PCGS slab at GC would be of interest.

Recently bought one of those:
Both the OP’s example & mine are Gen 1.1’s. They were used for about a week in mid-February 1986. The Gen 1.0 though? Only for a few days just before that!

I'll provide my opinion to the question, even though it was directed at @Manifest_Destiny. In my mind it's kind of impairing the originality of the slab, which carries at least half the value of the slab/coin. If I was a collector of early slabs I would just peel the sticker off. I think it brings just as much money without the sticker and keeps a historical piece of PCGS history unmolested.

Holders like the NGC black or one of these early white label PCGS holders are not helped by a green bean, the value is all in the holder/coin combo.

I still like the white rattlers - had a box of 20 at one time, down to about 4 that are part of my current "core" efforts.
Nice looking coin - I have no problem with the CAC sticker - especially like the gold ones. Just sold 2 this weekend, with gold stickers, through Great American Treasures.

I sold that lovely 1924 MS-63 Saint to @Copperindian as my wife threw a hissy fit as she could not lift my 10x10 safe deposit box of $20 Saints and threatened to buy more furniture if I did not start selling some of my multiple 1924 Saints.
I begged my wife to keep my three black NGC 1.0 slabs also with 1924 and 1922 Saints.
@Copperindian made a very wise purchase. Hopefully his wife would be more understanding than my wife.
Do not cry for me as I still have five white label PCGS 1.1 slabs. But I am hiding them in a different box as they are not $20 Saints but my favorite vintage slab remains the black NGC 1.0 slabs.

Edited to add I do not own this coin.My opinion is that only a gold CAC sticker increases the value of the vintage PCGS slab whereas a green CAC sticker or no sticker at all are neutral effect on the value of the very old and very rare PCGS slab.
The PCGS 1.1 slab with a 1924 Saint has incredible built in value.
(1) Nearly one ounce of gold at nearly $3000.
(2) Numismatic value of the 1924 Saint which currently has no premium over increased gold bullion value but will come back in the future.
(3) Value of the incredibly rare PCGS 1.1 slab with the white paper label which now has a value of very close to $7,000.Interestingly enough…. Imagine if there was no coin inside this slab, it would probably sell for much more than the $10,000 to $12,000 range?
I keep forgetting that the coin now being auctioned is a 1927 Saint which was not commonly graded back in the late 1980’s.

In research, he admitted uncertainty openly. “If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?” This shows humility. Even a Nobel laureate accepted doubt. That humility makes the quote less cynical and more observational.

While the last 1927 Saint was CAC stickered it had a large copper stain which some buyers do not like whereas it does not bother JA or CAC or even me but does hold back the final bid price a bit.
The one I sold you is a more common date but in my view, a prettier coin without a ever so slightly annoying copper stain In a very visible area on the obverse (NOT A COPPER SPOT).
So the positives for the 1927 Saint was the slightly scarcer date vs the most common 1924 it does have a large copper stain which turns off a few potential buyers but not others. A mixed bag
I did not bid a competitive late bid but did submit an early bid just to be able to watch this coin being auctioned.

Not being into this field of exonumia, I must ask if it is permissible to buff out scratches and scuffs on these slabs or if that detracts from their value.
