Would have preferred a lower grade 1c and ALL consecutive serial numbers.

Nice presentation of Hawaiians. Planning to finish it off by adding the 1928 50 cent commemorative to the group?

Well done! I love mini sets like this. Did you buy the consecutive holdered ones as a group or did you happen to reunite them?

I will look out for Hawaiians in ogh in the future just in case they fit this set.

Great looking set. I like the higher graded cent, still fits well with the VF set.

If the commem comes available in circ in the same generation and green CAC, or the bit for that matter, I'd be all over it!

You have a beautiful set! The Hawaiian set has become increasingly more difficult to put together in the last 30 years.

Crack them out, carry the cent in your pocket with some other change for awhile, then resubmit.

I'm working on a type set myself, so far all I have are three 25c coins. Is it me or is the dime a stinker to find in BU?

Really nice set, I also want to get to work to create one.
Unfortunately it is not easy in Europe because the offer is not really good :(

That’s a good looking dollar. Those are often streaky or dark or both if they haven’t been cleaned.

How long?? I got lucky - in 2021 the silver pieces were offered in a "Old Holder" auction through HA. I found out later it was a customer of CRO who put it together. I've been looking for the 1c since.

With regards to the 10c, it and the 50c are really hard to find nice in BU. The 1c is also really hard to find BU w/o problems. I was lucky to buy a 1c in 65BN from Hall rare coins - Dave outbid me at auction and had a very reasonable markup, so bought it from him.

You have completed a set that you like and I’m sure had a lot of fun doing. I’m also sure that in your hunt that you had people at shows telling you that you’re crazy and wasting your time and money. What you did is what collecting is all about

  • CoinRaritiesOnlineCoinRaritiesOnline Posts: 3,679 ✭✭✭✭

The HA offering you referenced was consigned by the collector that bought the entire set from us intact -

I bought them from a collector who assembled it and had them graded years ago - same grade 1c, not the same coin.

Thanks for posting the story and pic, John. The green label of your 1c matches the others perfectly!
