Cheapest grading for common Pre-33 gold - Ideas?

I have a few gold pieces that I'd like to get slabbed, mostly common dates, AU/BU. They're not worth a lot more than melt.
Some could be fakes (correct gold content) that I'd like to get melted down.
What's the cheapest way to get them all graded? Should I submit directly to PCGS/NGC or go through a dealer? I'm thinking about shipping, insurance costs and that it might be cheaper through a LCS? Located in the Chicago area, if that helps at all.
I haven't done any business locally in several years, so I'm not even sure if a LCS would entertain me...

I agree,
as far as checking for counterfiets, take them by your experienced local dealer and have them review, I do it all the time for folks. As far as grading unless you have better dates, or high enough grades, not worth cost, graded pre 33 gold is not selling anymore than raw currently. I had a firm last week offer me like 10 bucks more for saints in 63 holders than the same coins au to unc raw.

Mistakes are natural. But repeated mistakes without reflection are something else. That may be the “stupidity” he was referring to. In research, he admitted uncertainty openly. “If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?” This shows humility. Even a Nobel laureate accepted doubt. That humility makes the quote less cynical and more observational.
You could also post high-resolution images here, along with their weight to 0.1 grams and diameter & thickness at the rims to 0.1 mm.

Since the OP asked for the cheapest grading for the gold coins and not if the coins are worth getting graded, the answer is still ANACS IMO.

Both Anacs and ICG have superb authentications. Anacs would probably be around $15 a coin; ICG probably $20 each; insurance will cost you too. It used to be NGC would do them for $20 coin with "gold rush". I could overnight them on Monday and get them back slabbed on Saturday! Those days are gone.
Thanks for the responses. I should be able to make it to shows in the Chicago area. I see Anacs will be accepting submissions there. But, prices seem to have gone up.. $22 for $2000 max value and $39 for $5000 max value. Eagles and below will be $22 it looks like and double eagles will be $39 + return shipping and insurance.
I will consider posting high-res photos here.
@vpr - ANACS is likely the cheapest option and they often have a rep taking submissions at the monthly coin show that's held in Countryside. There's one this Sunday, March 9. I can't say for sure they'll be there, but they have been the last few times I've set up there. There are also several well-regarded dealers that would be able to estimate grades to determine if submitting is worthwhile.
I personally don't think an ANACS holder will add any value for you other than proving authenticity. CAC is probably the next most reasonable option and would potentially add value depending on the final grades.
