Cool Jefferson Nickel Ephemera NewP

I've been trying to assemble an autograph collection of 20th century coin designers for years, and it has been surprisingly difficult, and currently only have Weinman, Gasparro, and Gilroy Roberts. I missed a Hermon MacNeil on eBay a few years ago (wish I'd bid just a bit higher) and have my eye on a couple of St. Gaudens letters. Like St. Gaudens, many of the others are going to be expensive (Brenner, Fraser, MacNeil) because they are also famous sculptors. Sinnock is also proving difficult.

I always wanted one of the numbered certificates Felix Schlag made after the Jefferson nickel went into production. Each one was signed and had a proof 1938 nickel attached. The last one of these I saw on eBay was a BIN of $5000.

This item popped up in my saved search for Schlag last week, at a reasonable price, and I was the only bidder. It was even authenticated. I couldn't be more happy with it, and can't wait to frame it with a certified 1938 proof Jefferson nickel!

I have a 2007 Redbook signed by Tom DeLorey and Pat Braddock on page 220, the page where the Cheerios Dollar was first listed.

Added these a while back when Landis removed that distracting FSNC2002 incuse stamp on his obverse die.

The 1/3 ounce 24k 5c is #13 of 17 piece closed production run.

All three have signed Landis COAs.

Very cool pursuit. When I was collecting Lincolniana I just missed a similar Brenner card that included a 1909 cent.

At one time I owned a Brenner Lincoln medal with a personal edge inscription signed “VDB”. I never could tie it to anyone (the recipient’s initials were included) or provide provenance, it looked like it was intended for a fellow artist. Sold it many years ago along with most of my collection. It’s still out there somewhere.

Not familiar with AUTO on the label. Does that mean machine signed?

I don't know why they don't spell it out, but I'm pretty sure AUTO means autograph.
