ANA and TSNS show reports.

I left home early on Wednesday for the drive to Atlanta. After an hour and a half, I went through the Hardee's drive through for breakfast. I soon came upon stopped traffic. It took an hour and 20 minutes to go 6 miles! When I got to the outskirts of Atlanta there was more slow traffic for a couple of miles. I got to the hotel in late afternoon.

On Thursday after breakfast at the hotel, I got to the convention center parking garage ( $10 ) at 9:05. I had pre-registered, so I had my badge. I went in at the 9:30 opening. I first stopped at David Lawrence to pay for an auction win on Sunday. I had a nice chat with John. Moving around the bourse floor I would call the attendance ok but there was not a buzz. I looked at some National Bank Notes with Merideth at Kagin's but did not purchase any. I saw a drop dead beautifully toned 1837 Bust Half Dollar in PCGS 65 priced at $12,500. It is not anything that I need. I talked with a currency dealer and a collector about nationals recently sold at auction. After a couple of hours, I had bought nothing and decided to call it a day.

I then drove to a parking lot at one of the areas of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. I got out and walked 3.5 miles along the river. It was a beautiful day.

Friday morning, I checked out of the hotel and drove to the TSNS show in Chattanooga ( East Ridge ),Tn. The bourse tables are usually sold out. This time I counted 18 empty tables. The crowd was very decent. Most for coins at this show are either raw or Silver Dollars in slabs. The only rare coins that I saw were a 1792 Half Disme in PCGS F. details damaged and a 1797 Half Dollar in PCGS G-4. I did not find anything that I needed so after a little while I headed for home. I did not buy anything on this trip but had a good time
