Need some extra eyes on this potential 1918/7 D Buffalo

VetterVetter Posts: 977 ✭✭✭✭✭

I could use a little help in determining if this is the overdate. The mint mark looks correct and I believe I see the die crack at the braid. Did I get lucky or not?

If the "D" leans back as in 11:30 on a clock and you can see the "Dot" by the down leg on the letter M in America, also if you can see the point of the number 7 into the ribbon you may have a winner. not sure about seeing the die crack coming out from the center of the braids tie and down the cheek.

I also check the center of each part of the 8. The top center should be slightly to the left of the lower center of the numeral as the OP's coin shows.

Agree, it is an 1918/7-D nickel. Congrats on your find!

Well worn but still enough to see that is a genuine 8/7.
    Good find
