Lost about $250 total on the game
Not much action on games after today for a bit
Seems like our buddy Galaxy may be doing the same, as he mentioned in another thread.
Actually a good idea. When I was younger, I wish that I had been wise enough to do that. But I wasn't and got crushed chasing losses.
Been there and done that in my 20's, football is my betting sport for the most part
I might occasionally throw something on other sports but it's nothing much.
I might throw something in the Golf tournament or some other things for fun but it will be far less than NFL season
I'd have to think during the Brady era, there were a number of seasons which you did quite well.
Honestly I didn't bet a whole lot during that time frame, I quite sport betting for a very long time and didn't do a whole lot with it until the Draft Kings went hot in New Hampshire.
If Sports gambling wasn't so easy I'd probably not even do it, I'd just stick with poker and 2 times a year Casino trip, I stopped dealing with bookies a long time ago, it was too much of a hassle and working at the Sheriff's Department I had to behave myself for the most part.
Now I got a casino 10 minutes from my house and Draft Kings on my phone lol

It's still my goal in life to help fund and get some player to the WSOP. Any suggestions? 😉
I'd do it myself, the 10k is no problem. The problem is the grind of it. I'm not a drug user and I've never taken an amphetamine or anything like that in my entire life. I don't even drink coffee. I only say that because unless a player is willing to do that, and be able to handle it, there's very little chance of making it to the bubble, let alone winning it, no matter how good you are.
I've played a lot of poker in my time. And I know enough about the game to realize that in a long grinding tournament such as the WSOP with thousands of players. No matter how good you are, you could technically be the best player in the room, but just one brief moment of lapse in judgment because of mental fatigue, and suddenly your stack is gone.
I realize that there are websites out there whereby you can buy-in for a piece of the action with certain players. However I would only want to do it with somebody who I both like and trust. For example I could easily envision buying in for say 10% on one of those websites, the player wins the tourney for 10 million, and I'm waiting patiently for my million dollar share to arrive in my bank account. But then find out the winning player has absconded with the money and is now living the life of luxury in Europe, with my money. LOL

And the neighborhood liquor stores. And the neighborhood pharmacies with their assortment of drugs, many of which wouldn't be needed if eating healthy.
But that's the society we live in. And it's far better than some nanny state dictator telling us what to do.
So Draft Kings knows they will be much less busy now that NFL is over for a bit so they offered me a sweat free NBA bet, meaning if my bet loses they give me a free bet up. to $100 so figured I'd give it a whirl and hit it

Nice parley payoff on three top teams in the league. I usually follow the NBA each day, but was too engrossed with savoring the Eagles win to pay much attention to the NBA last night. However around 10:00 pm, I did glance at the line and saw the Lakers I think were 12.5 point favorites. Winning the spread seemed uncertain, but the ML looked to me like close to a lock.
I think the Celtics are still the team to beat, but have been a bit erratic this season. Not really that surprising as these days, a championship team usually gets so full of themselves, while the other teams go gunning for them. On here around a month ago, i called the Celtics what I thought seemed like a license to print money ML game, which the Celtics struggled to win by 1 point. But overall, in the right spots at the right time, the Celtics are usually dependable. After all, a ML win by 1 point is just as good as 50 points. 😎

I never would have made that bet had I not been given the free bet if it lost
I was prepared to lose and put that "Free" bet on the Celtics to win the Championship
NBA regular season betting is not a rabbit hole I'd be fond of going down lol

I hear ya, but doubling your money on that particular bet, seems to me like a pretty solid bet. I know, easy to say after the games are over, but I would have thought the same thing beforehand.

If any bookie offers very high odds, to a player to bet that a ball thrown in the air won't come down. I'm saying right now, don't place that bet, regardless of the itch for action. 😂
Looks like Spieth bounced off a good previous weeks effort. Coming off his successful wrist surgery he slightly jammed his wrist during the first round last week.
Scottie will be a favorite for quite awhile going forward until he has a run of poor scores. I look for better value in the top 10,20 plays

I like Ohio State to beat Michigan in the game now playing. Live ML.
Currently Michigan ahead by 3 points, early in the first half.
Right after I posted this, i looked again and Michigan was up by 5 points, and the spread was Ohio State +3.5 which successfully hit. I should have been a bit more patient and made that call, but I didn't.
Ohio State just couldn't quite get it done on the ML, losing by 3 points. Stayed exactly the same as when I made the original call. I thought being at home, Ohio State would step it up and win the game. They still played well, but obviously not good enough.

Interesting that DraftKings stock price has soared around 30% just in the past two trading days.
Perhaps some huge whales lost on the Chiefs?
Usually it drops after the Super Bowl
I didn't know that. So the fact that it's now soaring is even more significant.
I'm was thinking perhaps some "major" states are getting ready to legalize sports betting, and the info is now leaking out? Just a guess. Could be some other reasons. For example If political wagering is ever allowed in the US, that DraftKings stock price would go thru the roof, as I'm sure they would offer it. Could be something behind the scenes involving that?

IDK but it's definitely odd that it hasn't dipped
I follow the stock market very closely. I don't own any DKNG stock, but it's on my watch list. This sharp rise certainly caught me off guard. I did think with the new administration, that restrictions might loosen up a bit. After all Trump has been a casino owner. Gotta be something in play for a rise this sharp.

Picking 10 out of 11 winning games is some good handicapping, no matter how ya slice it. I realize a number of those were probably heavy favorites, but they're still winners.
And with the no sweat bet, it placed the odds in your favor. One more dam team winning and it would have been a nice little score.
I was gonna do that but I have taken it in the seat betting ML underdogs so many times I was gun shy to pull the trigger
Come to think of it I've taken it in the seat betting ML favorites so many times as well😂😂😂
I didn't get a chance yesterday to look at the NBA lines. I don't quite understand the -11 line on the 76ers as their record is about equal to the Nets? Both teams are bottom tier teams. And the Sixers are now 1-9 in their last 10 starts.
I'm guessing one, perhaps two key players for the Nets were probably out? Even so, that line was a puzzler.
Glad ya caught it. You had that game in the bag for the final minute. Except if...I'm sure you were pleading for no overtime. LOL
My 2 NASCAR plays ran 3rd and 6th. The play for both was for top 5. Won enough on Larson to cover both plays and a profit. Accident at end pushed Hamlin from 8th to 6th place but just fell short for 5th.

Scottie a lot closer in this week's tourney after the first day.
Rounding to form?
Scottie at +180 going into the second day.
Dam those bookies, never give their customers a decent break on odds.
Perhaps he might win, but those odds are pathetically low.

Scottie quit like a dog today. Now 5 strokes back.
He may be taking a lot of whale money down with him this season. Making the bookies very happy. 😒

I just saw posted in another thread that Wemby is out for the season.
Be interesting to see if the Spurs step it up tonight and win the game, which isn't unusual to happen in a situation such as this,
Spurs opened at -2.5, now at +1.5 and at home. Could be a steal at that price? We shall see.
But the adrenaline spike always wears off after a game or so, and then it's back to normal. Of course the Spurs aren't as good without him.
Line now at Spurs +2.5
The herd is jumping on the Suns like there's no tomorrow.
NASCAR in Atlanta this week. The play for me: top 5 Larson and Hamlin.
I like Villanova a little bit in tonight's 7:00 game.
I like Vanderbilt a little bit in the upcoming 3:30 game.
Got a "Sweat Free" college bet so.tried to hit a small.one and of course lost one leg
Put my money back bet on another parlay and made $14 lol
A lil action is all.
