Finally an update on this project! I was able to snag a 2011 Topps Jamie Garcia. First one on card I've seen since I started doing this in 2017. Down now to just a few , most left are from this year. If anybody has a line on an autographed copy of any of these cards please let me know!!

Huge add to the chase came in today. I haven't seen this card signed since I started this project. This has me complete from 1960 when the Cup cards started to 2017 on the base cards and only three left not counting 6 from last year and the new class this year.

Got the very rare Spring Training TTM add. Kenta Maeda's 2017 base Topps doesn't have the Cup on it but his Chrome does. When that has happened over the years I've picked up both the base and Chrome.

Congrats! So no trophy on the base issue but there is a trophy on the Chrome issue? I really hate it when any of the card companies are inconsistent. I could go on and on about inconsistencies through the years. For instance I hate it when some cards in a set are vertical and some are horizontal. Pick out a way to do it and be consistent throughout the set!

Or how about the example like the 2011 Topps Jaime Garcia? There are two Garcia's in the base set that are regular cards. One has the trophy and one does not. Why in the world would they put two base cards of one player in a base set? Sometimes the incompetence of people astound me!

LOL. Yeah I feel the same way. My borderline OCD drives me nuts with the inconsistencies. I had to come to terms with it pretty early on with the Rookie Cup chase as there was a period from 1979 to 1986 where they didn't put the cup on there at all. And many years, some early on and some recent, where some of the cards have a cup and some don't.

From a signing with Pro Sports Zone in Detroit. If you're looking for autos of current Detroit area athletes they do alot of signings. Very pleased with their handling of the cards and communication.

Got a couple more in this week. The Mason Miller Heritage in a private signing and the Detmers is now one of my favorite stories in the chase. There was a signing at the Frank and Sons show in California (I live on the East coast) and there wasn't going to be a mail in option. Detmers was the last base card I needed to get through 2023 completed. I posted on a Facebook TTM page to ask if anyone was going. An incredibly nice guy (never had any communication with him before this) offered to take the card to the show for me to get it signed. Not only did he get the card signed he got a video of Reid Detmers giving me a hello as he was signing it. The folks in this hobby continually amaze me with the generosity and willingness to help out a fellow collector.

I saw this advertisement depicted in an online article. Topps used the same image as the 1968 Superstars card to promote the 10th Annual Topps Rookie Cup Awards.

A couple new pick ups. The Carlos Correa was a consignment from spring training.

The other one is one of those bittersweet cards that are part of this collection. Mr. Cedeno was only 31 when he passed away in a car accident in the Dominican Republic on his way home from a game. Way too young.
