I wasn't fooled anyway, but there is a rim all the way around the reverse, so the die was created off center rather than it being a genuine off center struck from counterfeit dies.

Good observation. It is difficult to see but the rim is certainly there!!

Seems like an unnecessarily vague and unhelpful thread title regarding a counterfeit error coin.
Normally I agree but in this case I got exactly what I was expecting.
I read the title and thought “there’s going to be some high price jacked up junk in this thread. I wonder what it is”
Where's the crack squad of forum counterfeit coin auction cancelers? Need to nip this thing in the bud before we have people buying these coins at $1k/per.

Maybe a more helpful non-click bait title would get their attention

$2.60 with $1.30 international shipping?
I've bought silver dollar-sized medallions from China for under a dollar with free shipping.
It's sort of a complex system within the rules of the International Postal Union (I think) but China enjoys extremely low international postage rates for small packets and parcels.
China subsidizes the shipping for these manufacturers. I have purchased items for as little as 99 cents directly from China and actually had them delivered. They ship for cents.
Collector and dealer in obsolete currency. Always buying all obsolete bank notes and scrip.

Just for the record, I figured this was about a counterfeit eBay coin before I clicked on it. That’s actually why I clicked on it.
You're surely not the only one who figured that. On the other hand, many other people probably didn't.
What's the downside to letting people know the subject of a thread?

The downside is he is being urged to create threads under someone else’s arbitrary terms.

There was no urging (or even asking) about the creation of threads. Some of us ask for the courtesy of thread titles that let forum members know what the threads are about. And we realize that it’s up to the thread originators to do so or refuse.

It's amazing how many people on this forum choose to defend clickbait titles. I wonder if they are so supportive of them on the internet in general...
Why is it SO HARD for some posters to exhibit a small courtesy to others to title their threads with meaningful info? It's not a rule @Pnies20 , just allows other to have a choice to not open a thread that has content of no interest.

And makes it easier to find the ones that are of interest ..
of course. all kinds of counterfeits can be found out there. i looked on one our most hated sites and found counterfeit common date cents. i suppose they can sell for more if you get condition rarity

an 87.1 % feedback would be a good place to say "NO"...........
A rare, off-center 1955 VDB DDO!
Is the ear included with the purchase???????

More than 10 available for this rare error
One coin fits two pocks in a folder—reverse S VDB or 55 DD.

I wonder if they ship these wrapped in foil to fool the folks at the post office? 🤔🤪😂
For $3.99 it would be a cool novelty item if you’re into such things.

I will resist the urge to look at posts of people I’ve muted.
Just like the title of this thread, I don’t need to open it to know what it says

That pos is an unctuous fantasy coin; not worth the $3.60. It arrived from China on the day that seller indicated.
Is this considered counterfeit?
i would say yes due to the existence of 1955 ddo
