ANA Summer Seminar

tyler267tyler267 Posts: 1,277 ✭✭✭✭

I am thinking about going to the the ANA Summer Seminar.

My first reaction is to book one of the nearby hotels as opposed to the dorm, just seems more comfortable. But as I thought about it, I am wondering if the dorm might be better, get to know the other attendees and hang out.

I know if I decide to go I need to book quickly, some of the classes are already full.

Anyone have any input?

Thank You

The dorms are better for social life in the evenings, but they have no AC and can get hot. Personally I found it hard to sleep due to the heat and would hotel next time.

Bring lots of coins - particularly anything you want to sell. In addition to everything else, it’s a week long BST forum.

A buddy and I did a VRBO of a house two blocks from campus. It was great.

I wished I had brought some coins to share with others.

After trying to sleep in the dorm a couple hours on the first night, I found myself at the Wyndham when I woke up in the morning, with the AC on full blast 🙂.

anyone over 22 years old - go get a hotel room or a B&B room. Not worth staying in the dorms.

The St. Mary's B&B is the place to stay - highly recommended. The ANA also used it for the instructor's reception.

That’s where I stayed, and I liked it. And most of the other guests were there for Summer Seminar. There are other B&B’s in the area, so you do have options.

I would suggest instead of spelling out ANA Summer Seminar, just use the acronym instead to save time. :D

Once again thanks everyone I was able to get register for session 2 and got a room at the St Mary bnb. I'm really looking forward to going.

Last time I attended a summer seminar was 1976 when I was 14 and won an all expense paid trip from the Franklin mint by writing an essay. It was an unbelievable experience and ignited a life long passion for coin collecting

  • So @tyler267 what week are you planning on attending and what class do you hope to take?

Dorm is not for grown-ups. Favor comfort. I'm scheduled to be there during week 1 teaching the Morgan dollar class.
