Keep on looking in the rear-view mirror all the time and you will crash into a library.

Nobody here bought a lot of silver at either of the price spikes. So those are of little importance at this point in time.

It's paper. I doubt that he's even read the prospectus. In the context of David Rogers Webb's "The Great Taking", it is the pure definition of "counterparty risk".

Yes. The tread title has been edited numerous times over the years, never quite being in “near range” of current pricing. Either a slam on silver because it is forever down , but keeping the debate alive by being so far off base. Now even questioning if it is gutter metal. I think the OP is getting soft or changing his tune.

Just checked, my Johnson Matthey was bought at $37.33 an ounce, finally ahead on that one.

Yes, I do buy these because I love them, so the price going up It’s just a small consolation overall.

that's a local thing to them. if there were a chance to arbitrage the silver markets they'd be closer - unless there's ridiculous import duties into china

For those that like to sell for a quick profit.... then buy the dips..... has worked well in the past and perhaps will continue to work. But eventually there may come a time where you may be left in the trail dust as Hi O Silver gallops away....

Yup. When you buy, and then sell the same # of ounces over and over, you gain extra dollars (all taxable) but you don't retain any additional physical metal. For that to be effective, you had better be correct in your timing almost 100% of the time. Otherwise you are simply treading water instead of saving.

Started thinking today is the day I pull my raw 1oz silver off ebay and just wait this out. I'm in a position now where I don't even care if it goes back down to 30, so why sell?

Weird that my perception of these poorly struck St Gaudens imitations and US Assay Office rounds has gone from "what have I done" to "I'm so grateful to have them and they are actually pretty cool".

I agree 100%. I buy both gold and silver. Originally I did it to fund retirement but thank god I don’t need it for that. Now I do it as another way to build generational wealth for my kids and grandkids plus I enjoy it. I think gold goes past $10,000 and silver $250 or more. If Bitcoin can be $115,000 and it’s a not a real hard asset why wouldn’t the metals hit these numbers?

Some here saw this coming and even advised to buy.

Gold does not need to replace currencies to reshape financial power. It only needs to replace collateral.

Difference between the metals and bitcoin is supply. Unlike bitcoin, there will always be new metal. What drives PM price upward is demand. Understanding "why the demand" provides insight on when to direct more resources to buying PMs.

Gold does not need to replace currencies to reshape financial power. It only needs to replace collateral.

I will be honest.. I don't understand complex financial instruments, and I'm OK with never fully getting it. Our money is fake and our stock market is fake. Both are managed by schemers who I hate with every fiber of my being.

It's all just made up BS and frustrates me to no end. What I like about gold and silver is there is nothing for me to "get". You buy it and you sell it and use that money to buy more. Or you just buy it and keep buying more. That's really it. At the end of the day, you either have it or you don't have it.

I really like that a lot.
