Ouch coins…..let’s see them

I’m sure we have all seen or owned better date or condition coins that have had some type of intentional damage inflicted on them. We can’t imagine why anyone would do it but when it was done, most likely the coin wasn’t known as valuable or the person didn’t know.
Anyway, let’s see yours. Here’s mine. Sold a couple years ago. 1937 D 3 leg Buffalo.

Not my coin, came across it recently. Not sure if the chemical ooze was intentional, but to add insult to injury, someone gouged a big X into the obverse field.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
That 3-legger has been pecked to death! What a shame.
Not that it’s all about the money (which it is, of course)
but how does somebody price that coin?

In the spirit of the OP’s request, this is my most valuable coin with a major ouch, easily a $1000+ coin w/o the hole:
On the US side, I still recall some years ago my wholesale friend offering me the coveted 1839/6 large cent in solid VF, for around $900 or so. A steal, except some idiot had painstakingly scratched out the section of the overdate to make it appear more like a regular 9! Because of the head style and ribbon, it could still easily be attributed as the rare variety. My friend asked what I’d offer; I said even though I love this date/variety, I don’t want it at any price. The key feature was permanently destroyed with small but bright copper scratches- ugh!
Put it on eBay. Close your eyes, cross your fingers and hope for the best. It did sell for more than twice what I paid though.

Here is my addition: the S-79 brockage. The vast majority of early mint errors were treated as novelties and were used as necklaces and pocket pieces. Here was Sheldon's own pocket piece. Man, to see this coin in original red would be the coolest.

Agree, as made not post mint but it's all I had that looked "ouch" I think there was a collar problem as the reeding is missing from 9:30 to 3:30.
Still way cool and weird.

Oh, that is SO MUCH MORE than an OUCH! coin. That's a MORPHINE DRIP coin. On the other hand, a few degrees to the right ... well, I don't even want to think about it.
