Complete! All CAC Peace Dollar Set

After some time and patience I just completed an all CAC Peace dollar set. There’s a mix of TPGs, different generations of slabs, toned and blast white coins.

How long did it take you start to finish? Are you going to register the set?

    Very nice and well done.

I’ve never been a big believer that the coins should match idea in a set.

Great accomplishment completing this set. While it’s a short enough series to finish, there are quite a few dates and mintmarks that can be challenging as you know. Congrats. Zack.

Congratulations! Some tough S-mint dates in there… I especially like your 1922 in 66:

I’m working on the same set, not all CAC, but only have the 34-S left to get.

I hope you find a nice ‘34-S! Please share your set when you get a chance. I’d love to see it!

Thanks John, I have the set registered on the CACG site. There’s detailed pics as well. Here’s a link to check it out: https://www.cacgrading.com/registry/102/set/401/leaderboard/166952

It took me 4 years to build the set. I started out wanting to build an all slabbed set but pivoted towards collecting all CAC coins. JA has a good eye that appeals to my tastes.

Phenomenal! Congratulations on what I'm sure took significant time and effort. I have a complete 10-coin date set that I've been slowly transitioning to 100% CAC, but doing the branch mints is another level. Well done.

Your '28 is very attractive for a 63; nice selection:

I have Jonny Aminov at Big Apple Coins to thank for the ‘28. I really like this one too :)

LOVE it!! Why in the world don't more people collect this series? It has virtually every possible advantage over Morgan dollars, including substantially superior aesthetics.

I’ve always loved the design of the Peace dollar too. When I started collecting back in the 80’s I couldn’t afford them. My grandfather would take me to coin stores to add to my set of circulated Mercury Dimes. Peace dollars were coins I would marvel at in the display cases. So, it’s a childhood dream come true to build a full set.

Beautiful set. Love the Peace design also and assembled a set while building my Morgan set. However you are not going to find PL/DMPL's for every date in Peace, nor appreciable toning for every date, or even if they exist to the level of Morgan bag toning. Personal preference on which is better, no right or wrong with these 2 series.

Beautiful set. 4 years is a long time and it's paid off. I'm also doing a Peace set and only have the 34-S to go. Mine are all in PCGS plastic. I'm always looking to upgrade if something I like more comes up. Some dates get really expensive and are difficult to find with good eye appeal.

Congratulations on putting this beautiful 100% CAC set together!

While my Peace Dollar set is also 100% CAC, I took the easy way out, by having just a DATE set, using the most common mint for each of the 10 dates. Your complete set is so much more challenging!

    Great job!

    Steve,

Your set is beautiful with really high PCGS grades plus CAC stickers. That’s no easy feat and I’m humbled by your comments. I primarily use CACG and MyCollect registries and always look forward to seeing what you’re adding to your collection.

Thank YOU for your kind comments. As I indicated, because I chose a DATE set, which requires only 10 coins, along with the least expensive mint for each date, I was then able to fit into my budget slightly higher grades. Both of our sets are therefore special. I guess we're members of the "Mutual Admiration Society", lol.

I too partake in the "little boys game", also known as the Registries, including the CACG and MyCollect registries.
