LakesammmanLakesammman Posts: 17,540 ✭✭✭✭✭

Started looking it over - concept seems good, offerings limited to date.

Any 1st hand experiences here, buying or selling??

I was one of the first to list inventory there, haven’t sold anything yet, just a couple of lowball offers. Can’t say much better about eBay recently, either though. The vetting process is a huge step up from eBay’s (none) , that I can confirm.

I’ve browsed it a few times. Submitted a seller application over a month ago and haven’t heard anything. Maybe I’m not their type.

I was at Angel Dee's table, turned around and saw @winesteven.
Talked for a bit, showed off a couple of my LOC's (Indians, Barber Halves), and complimented
him on his fabulous Indian Cents that he had on display a couple of years ago.
Very very nice guy, a true gentleman,

And it was REALLY NICE meeting you too, and seeing your coins at FUN.

  • It is a very intresting concept we have had our coins listed since around the time that site started and we havent sold a single coin. I think the main appeal of eBay is how many people are on the site Numismy has not reached that yet IMO.

I shy away until I understand who/how is paying the bills.

I see fees for auctions, I see fees for promoted listings, but I don't see how they cover the day-to-day sales.

FleaBay offers some form of buyer & seller protection (not discussing the (in)adequacy of same here). Numismy just says it's between buyer and seller, we're not part of the transaction.

Website does not provide separate listing for Commemoratives. They are listed under 50 cents.

Also, TYPE icon does not always work.

I like the site and the concept - hope it takes off. I have made a couple sales there, went smoothly. After I add more inventory hopefully sales will pick up more.

May I ask what your dealer name is on Numismy?

This Numismy coin selling site appears to be a collection of "straw" offerings.
My first purchase required teeth pulling to get the coIn purchase aknowleged and shipped by the dealer only to receive the wrong coin.
My second purchase months later resulted in an ' eventual' response by the dealer " not knowing why the coin was on Numismy". That's it for my patronage.

    Buyers beware.

I made 2 purchases. One of the sellers wanted Zelle or a wire I said I would do PayPal with fee and he agreed , I paid extra 3%. Then he sent me a business card with his website and I made 3 more purchases at his website and even got better prices. I lately have been using eBay, Numismy to check inventory and then buy on the dealers website if they have one.
