I have so much Uecker stuff I'd love to share later. But for now I'll just post this ticket stub from Game 2 of the 1964 World Series. There was a Dixieland band playing during batting practice. So Uecker gets their tuba, and starts shagging fly balls with it. He said he caught a few, but it cost him $260 in repairs from the dents it caused .

Man I "Loved" that guy. Mr. Belvedere was probably my favorite childhood sitcom. He used to cal lhis son pal a lot which is origin my my doing it to mine.

I was floored when I found this set on eBay over the summer. I was able to work with the dealer a bit as he didn't really know what it should go for, and being so rare, either did I. I'd only seen pics of it, and it's only been graded once by PSA. It's from the 1975 Milwaukee Brewers TV / Radio set. Can't imagine there are many out, the seven card set is made up of four broadcasters, and three action shots. Yount isn't on it, and Ueck was still growing his brand. I have a feeling that not even the most die hard Brewers collectors arent aware of this one.

Uecker had been the voice of Brewers baseball as long as I've been alive. Grew up listening to him on AM 620. Gonna be missed.

Reading Catcher In The Wry tonight. Great book, feel like I'm getting in Ueck's head a bit.
